A day-long Workshop-cum-Review Meeting was held today at the DRDA Conference Hall with all Swajal Mitras in the presence of the ADC (PHE),EE(PHED), BDO Dhemaji ,technical officials from PHED, PRI functionaries, and Block & GP officials.

The workshop focused on strengthening the implementation and sustainability of Piped Water Supply Schemes (PWSS) through detailed deliberations on:
1. Review of the functionality status of all PWSS under DDB.
2. Technical sessions conducted by the SDE, APDCL and AEE, PHED on operational and maintenance aspects.
3. An overview of the PWSS mechanism by the invited Resource Person from ITI, Dhemaji.
4. An interactive session with PRI representatives on the roles and responsibilities of stakeholders and the measures required for the timely restoration of non-functional PWSS.

5. initiative was also scheduled with a discussion on the importance of rain water harvesting.

A Block-level Awareness Programme on "Catch the Rain" campaign was organised to create awareness and discuss various aspects of rainwater harvesting and water conservation. The programme was attended by the ADC,(PHE i/c), Executive Engineer (PHE), BDO, Dhemaji Development Block, Chairperson of Dhemaji Anchalik Panchayat, Zila Parishad Members under Dhemaji Block, Presidents and Secretaries of all Gaon Panchayats under Dhemaji Block, and Swajal Mitras. The participants actively deliberated on the importance of rainwater harvesting and the collective role of stakeholders in ensuring sustainable water resource management.

Team PHE, Dhemaji Division Extends Relief Support to Flood-Affected Families in Nazira Division

Following the recession of floodwaters, Team PHE, Dhemaji Division undertook a humanitarian initiative by distributing essential relief materials to flood-affected families in Nazira Division.

The team reached out to more than 500 families, providing relief packages containing sanitary pads, bathing soap, detergent powder, candles, mosquito repellent sticks, toothbrushes, toothpaste, ORS packets, phenyl, bleaching powder, biscuits, and drinking water bottles.

The relief materials were distributed in some of the worst-affected areas, including Bihubor and Bamunipokhuri under Nazira Sub-Division, with the aim of supporting families in maintaining hygiene, sanitation, and health during the post-flood recovery period.

This relief initiative was made possible through the generous contributions of the officers and staff of PHED, Dhemaji Division, along with the valuable support of associated contractors. Their collective effort reflects a strong commitment to community welfare and timely assistance during times of crisis.
