Ripanjyoti Nath, ACS, ADC, Dhubri & Nodal Officer, attended the Jan Sunwai at ADI SEWA KENDRA held on 26th May 2026 at Vill-Laliapara under Chapar Revenue Circle. The programme served as an important platform for villagers to raise grievances and interact directly with the administration for effective resolution of public issues and welfare-related concerns.

Market price monitoring and stability 📊📃

📍District Commissioner Dhubri chaired a meeting with the Chamber of commerce, Wholesale/Retail traders association, Rice/Wheat millers Association and other market related stakeholders regarding price monitoring and market stability.
📍The chair informed that any instance of black marketing, hoarding or creation of artificial scarcity of essential commodities by traders shall attract stringent penal action including suspension/ cancellation of trade licences and closure of business establishments as per the provisions of law.

Price monitoring and Market Stability 📝📊

District Commissioner Dhubri convened the District Level Task Force (DLTF) meeting for price monitoring and market stability.

▪ The meeting was convened pursuant to the directions of the Chief Secretary, Assam issued at the Video Conference held on 19th May/2026 which directed all District Administrations to initiate the price escalation and to take preventive measures to ensure price stability in essential commodities.

▪ The Price Monitoring Unit of Food Public Distribution & Consumer Affairs Department, Dhubri monitors the retail and wholesale prices of essential commodities on daily basis. As reported, the market prices in the district are currently stable. The District Commissioner expressed satisfaction over the current price situation and observed that the existing mechanism of strict daily price monitoring enables the administration to detect and respond to any market fluctuations promptly.
