As a part of the , the NSS UNIT :: Khowang College conducted a number of events today. At first the volunteers of the Unit along with the Programme Officer took the Panch Pran Pledge. The Principal of the college Dr. Trailokya Dehingia, Vice Principal Mrs. Dipali Saikia, Head, Dept. of English, Mr. Biju Chetia, Mr. Nityanandra Das, Asst. Prof, Dept. of Political Science and Mr. Tapan Sarmah, Guest Faculty, Dept. of Political Science also took part in the Pledge taking ceremony. The Principal addressed the volunteers and appealed to them to work with sincerity and dedication. After that the volunteers conducted a cleanliness drive inside the college campus. This was followed by plantation of indigenous saplings around the amrit sarovar situated in front of the college. After that the volunteers and the PO of the Unit, accompanied by Daisy Priya Gogoi, Asst. Prof, Dept. of English, distributed National Flags among the students and workers of Dehing Sonali Mazdur LP School.

NSS Special Camp on "Women and Children's Health" Successfully Conducted

NSS Unit, Khowang College successfully conducted its Special Camp on "Women and Children's Health". The Camp was organized at Kawoimari Gaon (adopted village) from 20 to 25 February, 2023. The following activities were carried out in the 6 days of the Camp-

Campus Cleanliness Drive conducted by the NSS Volunteers on 9th of November, 2022

The NSS UNIT :: Khowang College observed National Unity Day on 31st of October, 2022 in collaboration with the Students' Union of the college. The Principal of the college Dr. Trailokya Dehingia inaugurated the programme by paying homage and floral tribute to the portrait of Iron Man Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel. He also talked about the significance of the National Day of Unity and the role played by Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel in uniting our nation. The NSS volunteers and teachers present also took the National Unity Day Pledge. The pledge taking ceremony was initiated by the Programme Officer of NSS Unit::Khowang College, Mrs. Kakoli Bonya Gogoi. After the Pledge taking ceremony, the Principal of the college flagged off the Unity Day Run in which 86 volunteers and 12 teachers of the college took part.

The NSS Unit, Khowang College organized a Run today from Khowang Chariali to Khowang Ghat (approximately 4 kms) as a part of Fit India Freedom Run 3.0. The Principal of the college, Dr. Trailokya Dehingia flagged off the event in the presence of the programme officer of NSS UNIT :: Khowang College Mrs. Kakoli Bonya Gogoi and other faculty members of the college and people from the locality. A total number of 30 volunteers participated in the event.

Observation of NSS Day, 2022 at Khowang College
The NSS Unit of Khowang College observed the NSS Foundation Day, 2022 as well as Orientation for new Volunteers on 24/09/2022. The programme included inaugural talk by the Principal of the college, Dr. Trailokya Dehingia, who was previously the Programme Officer of the NSS Unit of the college and was awarded the Best Programme Officer for the year 2020-2021 by the Dibrugarh University. Mrs. Dipali Saikia, the Vice-Principal of the college and Mr. Protim Sharma, the President of the Khowang College Teachers' Unit and the Head of the department of Political Science also spoke on the role of NSS in building the campus community linkage. In the programme a total number of 26 volunteers were given certificates for their service as NSS volunteers for 2 years. The meeting also had cultural programme where NSS volunteers as well as teachers of the college performed.
