| The NSS PG Unit and NSS Cell of Dibrugarh University, in collaboration with Borboruah Tea Estate, organised a Mega Cloth Donation Drive at Borboruah Tea Estate on December 15, 2025, with the objective of extending support to needy tea garden workers. The drive focused on distributing clothes among men, women and children, reinforcing the spirit of social responsibility and community welfare.

The programme was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Jitu Borah, Programme Officer, NSS PG Unit, and Dr. Himadri Barman, Assistant Programme Coordinator, NSS Cell, Dibrugarh University. Senior NSS volunteers Kunal Agarwal, Bindu Nerola, Kaushik Saikia and Bishal Das led the initiative, ensuring effective planning and smooth ex*****on. The event was attended by Borboruah Tea Estate Manager Mr. Samir Lodhi, the Assistant Manager of the estate, and Mr. Babul Thakur, a teacher of the tea estate.

Around 200 tea garden workers participated in the programme, while 15 NSS volunteers were actively involved in managing the distribution process. The clothes, donated by professors, students of Dibrugarh University and other community members, were distributed separately for men, women and children to ensure dignity and fairness. The successful conduct of the programme highlighted strong cooperation from the tea estate management and reflected the core values of service and community engagement upheld by the National Service Scheme.
