An awareness programme on Mental Health was successfully organised on 20th December 2025 at Room No. 19, Digboi Mahila Mahavidyalaya by the NSS Unit and the Women Cell of the college. The programme aimed to create awareness among students regarding the importance of mental well-being and to remove the stigma associated with mental health issues.
The programme was graced by the presence of Dr. Sanjita Chetia, Principal of Digboi Mahila Mahavidyalaya, who attended the session and encouraged students to prioritise mental health along with academic excellence. Her presence added significance to the programme and motivated the participants.
The session was conducted by Mrs. Sikha Talukdar, Counsellor, who served as the Resource Person. She delivered an insightful and engaging talk on various aspects of mental health, including stress, anxiety, depression, emotional well-being, and coping mechanisms. She highlighted the importance of self-care, seeking timely help, and maintaining a healthy balance between personal and academic life.
An interactive discussion followed the lecture, where students actively participated by sharing their concerns and asking questions. Mrs. Talukdar addressed the queries with empathy and provided practical guidance, reassuring students about the availability of counselling support and the importance of open communication.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks to the Resource Person, the Principal, and the organisers. The session proved to be highly informative and beneficial, helping students develop awareness, resilience, and a positive approach towards mental health.
