Review Meeting on

A review meeting on the progress of Upasana Sthali projects under the Assam Darshan initiative was held on 21st July 2026 at the Conference Hall of the Digboi Development Block under the chairmanship of the Co-District Commissioner, Digboi.

The meeting was attended by the Block Development Officer (BDO), Digboi, Secretaries and Presidents of the concerned Gram Panchayats, along with officials associated with the implementation of the scheme.

During the meeting, the physical and financial progress of the ongoing Upasana Sthali works was reviewed in detail. The Co-District Commissioner expressed concern over the pending and incomplete works and emphasized that any delay in ex*****on would not be acceptable. All implementing agencies and Gram Panchayats were directed to expedite the remaining works, ensure regular monitoring, and maintain the prescribed quality standards.

The Co-District Commissioner further instructed all concerned officials to complete the pending works within the stipulated timeline and declared target dates, without any further delay. Strict compliance with the project schedule was emphasized so that the benefits of the Assam Darshan initiative reach the public at the earliest. Officials were also directed to resolve field-level issues promptly through close coordination and submit regular progress reports until the completion of all works.

� OFFICIAL PUBLIC NOTICE | Office of the Digboi Co-District

The Office of the Digboi Co-District informs all residents that, as per the order issued by the District Commissioner, Tinsukia, Simoluguri village under Kailashpur Gaon Panchayat, Margherita Revenue Circle has been declared the epicentre of African Swine Fever (ASF).

To contain the spread of the disease, the following measures have been put into effect:-

🔹 A 1 km radius around Simoluguri village has been declared as the Infected Zone, while a 10 km radius has been declared as the Surveillance Zone.

🔹 Culling operations will be carried out in the infected zone from 21st to 23rd July, 2026, under the supervision of designated Veterinary Department officials.

🔹 All pork shops and establishments dealing with pork and pork-related products within Digboi Co-District shall remain closed for 30 days or until further orders.

🔹 Movement of pigs and pork-related products into or out of Digboi Co-District, including to and from neighbouring districts and Arunachal Pradesh, is strictly prohibited for the next 30 days or until further orders.

The public is requested to extend full cooperation to the authorities and strictly adhere to the directions issued in the interest of public health and disease control. Any violation of the order will invite legal action as per the provisions of the Disaster Management Act, 2005, and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

Public cooperation is essential to prevent the spread of African Swine Fever (ASF).

A review meeting on the preparations for the celebration of the 80th Independence Day, 2026 was conducted today at the Conference Hall of the Office of the Digboi Co-District under the chairmanship of the Co-District Commissioner.

The meeting was attended by the Assistant Commissioners and officials from various departments to review the preparedness for the upcoming Independence Day celebrations. Discussions focused on ensuring seamless coordination among departments for arrangements related to the ceremonial parade, cultural programmes, security, traffic management, sanitation, drinking water, electricity, health services, and other essential logistics.

The Co-District Commissioner instructed all concerned departments to complete the assigned responsibilities within the stipulated timeline and work in close coordination to ensure a smooth, safe, and dignified celebration of the national festival.

The Office of the Digboi Co-District remains committed to making the 80th Independence Day Celebration a grand success through effective planning, teamwork, and dedicated public service.

A Coordination and Departmental Review Committee (CDC) Meeting was held today at the Conference Hall of the Office of the Digboi Co-District under the chairmanship of the Co-District Commissioner (CDC).

The meeting was attended by the Assistant Commissioners, and representatives from various line departments, including Digboi Municipal Board (DMB), Block Development Office (BDO), PWD (Roads & Buildings), Public Health Engineering (PHE), Assam Power Distribution Company Limited (APDCL), Agriculture, Irrigation, Education, Sericulture, Fisheries, and Handloom & Textiles, among others.

During the meeting, the progress of ongoing developmental works and public welfare initiatives was reviewed. Department-wise issues and challenges were discussed in detail, and necessary directions were issued by the Co-District Commissioner for timely implementation of projects, improved inter-departmental coordination, and prompt resolution of public concerns. Special emphasis was laid on infrastructure development, essential public services, and ensuring effective delivery of government schemes across the Co-District.

The Office of the Digboi Co-District remains committed to strengthening coordination among departments and ensuring efficient, transparent, and citizen-centric governance for the overall development of the region.

🚖 : & for E-Rickshaw Operations in Digboi Co-District

To ensure safe, disciplined, and regulated operation of e-rickshaws in Digboi Co-District, the following rules and regulations have been adopted following the meeting held under the chairmanship of the Co-District Commissioner, Digboi.

:
✅ , One E-Rickshaw:
Only one e-rickshaw shall be registered or purchased in the name of an individual. The registered owner shall personally operate the vehicle.

✅ as Driver:
The e-rickshaw may be driven only by the registered owner or an immediate family member. Operation by any third party or rented driver is strictly prohibited.

✅ on Approved Routes:
E-rickshaws must operate only on the routes designated and notified by the Digboi Municipal Board (DMB).

✅ Designated Parking Stands:
E-rickshaws shall pick up and drop passengers only from the designated parking stands notified by the DMB. Waiting for passengers or operating from any unauthorized location within the municipal area is not permitted.

✅ :
No e-rickshaw shall operate on routes not approved by the Digboi Municipal Board.

✅ :
Every e-rickshaw operating within the Digboi Municipal Area must possess:
1)No Objection Certificate (NOC) and Route Permit issued by the Digboi Municipal Board.
2)Valid MV Tax.
3)Valid Fitness Certificate.
4)Valid Insurance.
5)Valid Driving Licence of the driver.

The Digboi Municipal Board will conduct awareness meetings with stakeholders, notify timelines for compliance, and verify all statutory documents.

A survey of rural areas under Digboi Co-District will also be conducted to assess compliance. All concerned departments will work together to ensure effective implementation and strict enforcement of these regulations.

On the occasion of the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, the Digboi Co-District Administration today organized an Oath-Taking Ceremony reaffirming its commitment to building a drug-free and healthy society.

Officers and staff of the Co-District Administration solemnly pledged to combat drug abuse, promote awareness about the harmful effects of narcotic substances, and encourage individuals, especially the youth, to lead healthy, responsible, and addiction-free lives.

The oath reflected the Administration's collective resolve to strengthen community participation, spread awareness, and work together with all stakeholders to eliminate the menace of drug abuse from society.

In view of the increasing number of road traffic accidents (RTAs) resulting in grievous injuries and fatalities, the Office of the District Commissioner, Tinsukia, Chairperson, District Road Safety Committee (DRSC), has issued guidelines to be strictly followed by all educational institutions across the district.

As part of the road safety initiative:-

🔹 Students below 18 years of age must not drive two-wheelers or cars to educational institutions.

🔹 Students above 18 years must possess valid Driving Licences while riding or driving to attend classes.

🔹 All riders, including pillion riders, are required to wear ISI-marked helmets.

🔹 Educational institutions have been advised to install CCTV cameras at appropriate locations to monitor vehicles entering their campuses.

🔹 Heads of institutions shall counsel students and parents found violating these norms and undertake awareness measures to promote road safety.

📍 The order has come into force with immediate effect and has been circulated to all Co-District Commissioners, including Digboi Co-District, for information and strict compliance.

The Digboi Co-District Administration urges all Students, Parents, Teachers, and Educational Institutions to join hands in fostering a culture of responsible driving and road safety.
