Today, Hon’ble KADCC President Shri Raton Engti, Ex-EM, addressed a press meet and raised serious allegations regarding the alleged collection of ₹15 lakh in connection with the appointment of teachers. He alleged that Smt. Kache Teronpi, wife of CEM Tuliram Ronghang, along with Richard Tokbi, EM (Education), was involved in collecting money from candidates seeking teacher appointments.

Calling the allegations extremely serious, Shri Raton Engti demanded a CBI inquiry to ensure a fair, independent and transparent investigation. He emphasised that any wrongdoing in the teacher recruitment process must be thoroughly investigated and accountability fixed.

The people deserve transparency, justice and a corruption-free recruitment system.

Observer Team Visits KADCC Ahead of 2027 Council Election

An Observer Team from the Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) visited the Karbi Anglong District Congress Committee (KADCC) today in connection with preparations for the upcoming 2027 Council Election.

The team was led by Shri Bipul Gogoi, General Secretary (Administration), APCC, and included Shri Edtuwa Munda, former Minister, Govt. of Assam; Shri Nilamoni Sen Deka, former Minister; Shri Satyabrata Kalita, former MLA; Ashok Teron General secretary APCC, Shri Pallab Chetia, Secretary, APCC; Purnima Ronghangpi secretary APCC and Smt. Suprotim Kaur, Joint Secretary, APCC.

Hon’ble KADCC President Shri Raton Engti, Ex-EM, warmly welcomed the Observer Team, along with the esteemed leaders and senior members of KADCC. The interaction focused on strengthening the party organisation, assessing grassroots preparedness and chalking out a strategic roadmap for the upcoming Council Election.

The meeting reflected the unity, discipline and renewed determination of the Congress organisation in Karbi Anglong. Under the dynamic leadership of Shri Raton Engti, KADCC remains committed to strengthening the party from the grassroots and raising the voice of the people.

KADCC President Shri Raton Engti visited flood-affected families in Sivasagar and extended relief materials to those severely impacted by the devastating floods.

Witnessing the extensive damage and hardships faced by the affected families, Shri Engti expressed deep concern and reaffirmed his commitment to standing with the people in this difficult hour.

During the visit, he had the privilege of meeting Hon’ble APCC President Shri Gaurav Gogoi, Deputy Leader of Opposition. Shri Gogoi expressed his gratitude to Shri Raton Engti for his kind support, humanitarian assistance, and visit to the flood-affected families.

Hon’ble President of KADCC, Shri Raton Engti, Ex-EM, actively participated in the protest programme organised by the Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) against the proposed reduction of the Eco-Sensitive Zone from 10 km to just 1 km and the alleged move to hand over indigenous land to corporate interests.

The programme was led by the Hon’ble President of APCC, Deputy Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha and Hon’ble MP from Jorhat, Shri Gaurav Gogoi.

This is a political fight for the land, rights and future of our indigenous people. Development cannot come at the cost of destroying our forests, grabbing our land and compromising the interests of local communities.

Congress will not remain silent while the rights of our people are threatened. We will resist every anti-people policy and continue to raise our voice for justice, protection of indigenous land and the future of our communities.

Hon’ble President Raton Engti, Ex-EM, held an important organisational meeting with all Mandal Congress Committee Presidents and Secretaries, along with Block Congress Committee leaders, at Rajiv Bhawan, Diphu.

Honourable President Raton Engti Ex EM visited the flood-affected families at Dalamara under the Howraghat Constituency. He was accompanied by Honourable Vice President Sanjeeb Teron, Block President and Secretary, Mondal President and Secretary, Youth Congress leaders, and many dedicated Congress leaders and workers.

During the visit, Shri Raton Engti interacted with the affected families, listened to their concerns, and distributed essential relief commodities to help them during this difficult time.
