Good News for the People of Chenab Valley

The Government of India has announced the establishment of a Cancer Diagnostics Laboratory at Government Medical College Doda, which will provide free diagnostic facilities to the people of Chenab Valley.

The laboratory, popularly known as the DIAMOnDS Laboratory (DHR-ICMR-Advanced Molecular Oncological Diagnostic Services), will offer free tests related to Lung and Breast Cancer. These tests usually cost between ₹14,000 and ₹60,000, but patients will now be able to avail them free of cost.

This important initiative became possible through the dedicated efforts of award-winning journalist Amir Tantray along with the support and efforts of Atal Dulloo.

We sincerely thank everyone involved for their tireless efforts in bringing such an important healthcare facility to our district.

On behalf of the volunteers of FWT, in general, and the residents of Ghat in particular, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to the worthy Deputy Commissioner, Doda, Shri Harvinder Ji.

One of the long-pending demands of the people of Ghat—the functioning of the OPD at UHTC Ghat—has finally been fulfilled. This development truly feels like a dream come true and will greatly benefit the local community.

A few days back, she didn't even have enough money for the bus fare to visit GMC for her child’s treatment. With winter approaching, she is struggling to arrange tin sheets for shelter.

URGENT APPEAL FOR HELP

This case has been personally verified by one of our volunteer.

A family from Gazote Bhalla is going through an extremely painful situation.
Noor Hussain S/O Asdullah is currently admitted in the ICU at GMC Doda and has been diagnosed with Diffuse Large B-Cell Lymphoma (a serious type of cancer).

At the same time, his wife Amina is also admitted in GMC Doda and is undergoing dialysis due to Chronic Kidney Disease (ESRD).

Both husband and wife are patients, and they have four young children at home with no source of financial support.

We humbly request everyone to come forward and help this family in their time of hardship.
