Singh, Member (Innovation & Rejuvenation), CGWB, CHQ, Faridabad, held a meeting with the Additional Secretary-cum-Chief Engineer (West), Water Resources Department, Government of Rajasthan, at Indira Gandhi Nahar Bhawan, Jaipur (Rajasthan). The meeting was convened to discuss the modalities and initiate the process for handing over the Zoned Earth-fill Dam with Clay Core at Indroka (Block Keru) and the Concrete Gravity Dam at Bastawa Mata (Block Balesar), constructed in Jodhpur district under Phase-I of the Artificial Recharge (AR) Project, Rajasthan. The discussions focused on the procedural requirements, inter-departmental coordination, and the roadmap for the smooth transfer of these assets to the Government of Rajasthan.

*Visit of Member (SAM), CGWB, CHQ, Faridabad to Western Region, CGWB, Jaipur*

Sh. S.G. Bhartariya, Member (SAM), CGWB, CHQ, Faridabad, along with his team comprising Smt. Mini Chandran, Scientist-D & TS to Chairman, and Ms. Subhra Satapathy, Scientist-C, visited the Western Region, Central Ground Water Board (CGWB), Jaipur on *23.07.2026*. The dignitaries were warmly welcomed by the Regional Director, WR, CGWB.

During the visit, Member (SAM) chaired a comprehensive review meeting covering key technical, administrative, and financial matters. Discussions focused on the progress of NAQUIM studies, collaborative studies, GWRA-2026, integration of groundwater level data with the State Government, Atal Jal and NHP wells, PIB well monitoring, integrated water quality data and NABL accreditation, Geophysical Section activities, Artificial Recharge projects, GRASP data entry, JSJB structure verification, Rajbhasha implementation, manpower position, and other operational issues.

Member (SAM) appreciated the progress made by the Western Region and provided valuable guidance and strategic directions for the effective implementation of ongoing programmes and future initiatives. The visit and review meeting proved highly productive, offering clear direction and encouragement for achieving the technical and organizational objectives of the Western Region, CGWB.

The Economic Times Rajasthan Water Conclave 2026, organized in collaboration with the Government of Rajasthan, was held on 24 July 2026 at Jaipur. With the approval of the Chairman, Shri Sanjay Gopal Bharatariya, Member (SAM), Central Ground Water Board (CGWB), Central Headquarters, Faridabad, represented CGWB and participated in Panel Discussion-1: "Enhancing Water Recharge: Building Sustainable and Climate-Resilient Water Systems" alongside senior officials and experts from the Government of Rajasthan, TERI, UNICEF, CSE and GVNML. During the discussion, he highlighted CGWB's initiatives on groundwater assessment, aquifer mapping, artificial recharge and the need for scientific, climate-resilient and collaborative groundwater management. The conclave was also attended by Dr. Rakesh Kumar Kushwaha, Regional Director, WR, Jaipur; Ms. Mini Chandran, Scientist 'D' & TS to Chairman; Ms. Subhra Satapathy, Scientist 'C', CGWB, CHQ; Dr. Rakesh Singh, Scientist 'D'; Ms. Preeti Pandey, Scientists 'C' and Shri Jitesh Tatiwal, Scientists 'C'; and Shri Shailendra Singh and Shri Aditya Sharma, Scientists 'B', CGWB, WR, Jaipur.
द इकोनॉमिक टाइम्स राजस्थान वाटर कॉन्क्लेव 2026, राजस्थान सरकार के सहयोग से 24 जुलाई 2026 को जयपुर में आयोजित किया गया। अध्यक्ष, केन्द्रीय भूजल बोर्ड की स्वीकृति से श्री संजय गोपाल भरतारिया, सदस्य (एसएएम), केन्द्रीय भूजल बोर्ड, केंद्रीय मुख्यालय, फरीदाबाद ने सीजीडब्ल्यूबी का प्रतिनिधित्व करते हुए "Enhancing Water Recharge: Building Sustainable and Climate-Resilient Water Systems" विषयक प्रथम पैनल चर्चा में भाग लिया। इस चर्चा में राजस्थान सरकार, TERI, UNICEF, CSE तथा GVNML के वरिष्ठ अधिकारियों एवं विशेषज्ञों ने सहभागिता की। अपने विचारों में उन्होंने केन्द्रीय भूजल बोर्ड द्वारा भूजल संसाधन आकलन, एक्वीफर मानचित्रण, कृत्रिम भूजल पुनर्भरण तथा वैज्ञानिक, जलवायु-अनुकूल एवं समन्वित भूजल प्रबंधन की आवश्यकता पर प्रकाश डाला। इस अवसर पर डॉ. राकेश कुमार कुशवाहा, क्षेत्रीय निदेशक, पश्चिमी क्षेत्र, जयपुर; सुश्री मिनी चंद्रन, वैज्ञानिक 'डी' एवं अध्यक्ष की तकनीकी सचिव; सुश्री शुभ्रा सतपथी, वैज्ञानिक 'सी', सीजीडब्ल्यूबी, केंद्रीय मुख्यालय; डॉ. राकेश सिंह, वैज्ञानिक 'डी'; सुश्री प्रीति पाण्डेय एवं श्री जितेश टाटीवाल, वैज्ञानिक 'सी'; तथा श्री शैलेन्द्र सिंह एवं श्री आदित्य शर्मा, वैज्ञानिक 'बी', सीजीडब्ल्यूबी, पश्चिमी क्षेत्र, जयपुर भी उपस्थित रहे।

स्वच्छता कार्य योजना 2026-27 के अंतर्गत आज दिनांक 29.07.2026 को केंद्रीय भूमि जल बोर्ड, उत्तरी क्षेत्र, लखनऊ द्वारा पूर्व माध्यमिक विद्यालय एवं प्राथमिक विद्यालय, मड़ियांव, लखनऊ में जन-जागरूकता कार्यक्रम आयोजित किया गया।
कार्यक्रम में "स्वच्छ भारत अभियान में आने वाली पीढ़ी का योगदान" विषय पर निबंध प्रतियोगिता, "एक पेड़ माँ के नाम" अभियान के अंतर्गत पौधारोपण एवं स्वच्छता रैली का आयोजन किया गया।
इस अवसर पर क्षेत्रीय निदेशक डॉ. अनादि गायेन महोदय ने विद्यार्थियों को स्वच्छता, "कैच द रेन", जल संरक्षण एवं पर्यावरण संरक्षण के प्रति जागरूक किया तथा स्वच्छ एवं हरित भारत के निर्माण में उनकी महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका पर प्रकाश डाला।
कार्यक्रम के अंत में निबंध प्रतियोगिता के विजेताओं को प्रथम, द्वितीय, तृतीय एवं सांत्वना पुरस्कार प्रदान किए गए।

श्री प्रशांत राय, क्षेत्रीय निदेशक, केंद्रीय भूमिजल बोर्ड, उत्तरांचल क्षेत्र, देहरादून द्वारा श्री जैगम अली ख़ान, संयुक्त सचिव, राष्ट्रीय नदी संरक्षण निदेशालय (एनआरसीडी), जल शक्ति मंत्रालय एवं सदस्य (वित्त), केंद्रीय भूमिजल बोर्ड का स्वागत किया गया।
दिनांक 25.07.2026 को सदस्य (वित्त) द्वारा केन्द्रीय भूजल बोर्ड, उत्तरांचल क्षेत्र, देहरादून के कार्यालय भवन का निरीक्षण किया गया तथा क्षेत्रीय कार्यालय की गतिविधियों की समीक्षा हेतु बैठक आयोजित की गई। इस अवसर पर श्री प्रशांत राय, क्षेत्रीय निदेशक द्वारा उत्तरांचल क्षेत्र, देहरादून की गतिविधियों, उपलब्धियों एवं वित्तीय प्रगति पर विस्तृत प्रस्तुतीकरण दिया गया।
सदस्य (वित्त) ने उत्तरांचल क्षेत्र, देहरादून द्वारा किए गए कार्यों, उपलब्धियों एवं प्रगति की सराहना की। सदस्य (वित्त) ने क्षेत्रीय कार्यालय के कार्यों की सराहना करते हुए राज्य सरकारों के साथ समन्वय एवं सहयोग को और सुदृढ़ बनाने के निर्देश दिए। इस अवसर पर कार्यालय परिसर में वृक्षारोपण किया गया तथा देहरादून स्थित पीआईबी (Pz) परियोजना स्थलों का भी निरीक्षण किया गया।

CGWB, WCR, Ahmedabad, organized (33/36) workshop on "Presentation and Sharing of NAQUIM Report of Mahisagar District for Ground Water Resource Management Planning" on 27th July 2026 at the Office of the District Collector, Mahisagar.
The workshop was chaired by Ms. Arpit Sagar, IAS, Collector and District Magistrate and Sh. Yuvraj Siddharth, IAS, District Development Officer, Mahisagar District.
At the outset, Ms. Nainika Gour, Scientist-B, welcomed the Chair and representatives from various line departments. Sh. Naresh K. Raj, Scientist-D, outlined the objectives of the workshop and delivered a presentation on the outcomes of the NAQUIM Report of Mahisagar District and highlighted the key findings and recommendations for groundwater resource management. He also demonstrated the CGWB website for accessing the NAQUIM reports and other CGWB datasets.
The Collector and District Magistrate appreciated the scientific work carried out by CGWB under the NAQUIM programme and directed all line departments to incorporate the study findings and recommendations in Jal Sanchay Jan Bhagidari (JSJB) and MGNREGA works, ensuring their effective implementation at the field level.
The workshop was attended by representatives from Panchayat Irrigation, Irrigation, Gujarat Water Supply and Sewerage Board (GWSSB), Nagar Palika, PHMD, PHMSD and Social Welfare Department.

CGWB, NWR, Chandigarh organized a workshop on 15 July 2026 in Conference Hall, Bhujal Bhawan, Chandigarh to initiate the annual Dynamic Groundwater Resource Assessment (GWRA) 2026, Haryana State, which is jointly undertaken by CGWB and the Irrigation & Water Resources Department, Haryana.
The workshop began with an introductory briefing by Shri Vidya Nand Negi, HOO, CGWB, NWR, Chandigarh, and was attended by Shri Pankaj Mahala, Chief Hydrologist, HWRA, Shri V.S. Lamba, Hydrologist, GWC, Haryana, and around 20 field hydrologists from the Ground Water Cell, Haryana State.
Shri Ayush Kesharwani, Scientist-B, CGWB, NWR Chandigarh delivered technical lectures for the training of the participating officers, focusing on input data requirements, methodology, and new provisions introduced in state’s GWRA 2026 estimation process. Additional technical inputs were provided by Shri Nitish Vishwakarma, Assistant Hydrogeologist, and Shri Suraj Kumar, Assistant Hydrogeologist, CGWB, NWR Chandigarh.
The workshop served as an important platform for capacity building and coordination between CGWB and Haryana State officials for the forthcoming groundwater resource assessment exercise.
