MBA (Power Management) Students Undertake Educational Visit to ‘Bharat Electricity’ Conference

New Delhi: MBA (Power Management) students from the National Power Training Institute (NPTI), Corporate Office, Faridabad, accompanied by Dr. S. Selvam, Principal Director, and Shri Ashutosh Gupta, Deputy Director, undertook an educational visit to the ‘Bharat Electricity’, ‘PowerGen India’ and ‘India Utility Week 2026’ events being held at Yashobhoomi, IICC, New Delhi, from 1 to 3 September 2026.

The integrated platform brings together more than 15,000 professionals, 250+ exhibitors, and over 200 policymakers, CEOs, regulators and industry experts, covering the entire electricity value chain. The event provides a comprehensive platform for discussions on emerging technologies, policy developments, investments, innovation and transformation across the power sector.

Shri Hemant Jain, Director General, NPTI and Member (Grid Operation & Distribution), Central Electricity Authority (CEA), congratulated the MBA (Power Management) students and officials on their participation in the conference. He emphasised that India has evolved beyond being merely a large energy market and is emerging as a testing ground for next-generation power systems.

The educational visit provided the MBA (Power Management) students with valuable exposure to the latest developments, technologies, policy perspectives and industry trends shaping the future of India’s power sector.

NPTI Organises Three-Day Leadership and Strategic Management Training Programme under RDSS

Faridabad: The National Power Training Institute (NPTI), Faridabad, inaugurated a three-day residential training programme on “Leadership and Strategic Management” under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS). The programme is aimed at strengthening leadership and strategic management capabilities of DISCOM officials to effectively address the rapidly evolving challenges of the power sector.

The training programme is being attended by officials from MPPKVVCL Jabalpur, MGVCL, MSEDCL and PDTC Bhopal. Key areas covered include emerging challenges in the power sector, network planning with high pe*******on of distributed renewable energy resources, leadership styles, effective communication and team building.

The programme was conducted under the visionary leadership of Shri Hemant Jain, Director General, NPTI and Member (Grid Operation & Distribution), Central Electricity Authority (CEA).

The inaugural ceremony commenced with the traditional lighting of the lamp by Shri Alok Kumar, Retd. IAS, Director General, (AIDA), Dr. Indu Maheshwari, Principal Director (Training), Dr. Vatsala Sharma, Director (Training), Sh. Rahul pandey, Deputy Director & Dr. Ratneshwaram Krishnam, Assistant Director. Ms. Ritu Verma, Expert, anchored the proceedings of the inaugural ceremony.

The programme was graced by Shri Alok Kumar, Retd. IAS, Director General, All India DISCOM Association (AIDA) and former Secretary, Ministry of Power, Government of India, as the Chief Guest. In his inaugural address, Shri Alok Kumar highlighted the importance of strong leadership, strategic planning and effective management in transforming the power distribution sector.

The programme was designed to strengthen leadership and strategic management capabilities of DISCOM officials and equip them to effectively address the rapidly evolving challenges of the power sector. Key areas covered included emerging challenges in the power sector, network planning with high pe*******on of distributed renewable energy resources, leadership styles, effective communication and team building.

The training programmes are being coordinated by Dr. Mahendra Singh, Deputy Director.

NPTI Inaugurates Training Programmes for Senegal and SJVN General Managers

Faridabad: Dr. Indu Maheshwari, Principal Director (Training), inaugurated two training programmes at the National Power Training Institute (NPTI), Sector-33, Faridabad—one on “Power Plant Familiarization and Operations” for participants from Sendou Power Station (CES), Senegal, and the other for General Managers of SJVN Limited. The inaugural ceremony commenced with the traditional lighting of the lamp, followed by Saraswati Vandana.

The four-week training programme for the Senegal participants is aimed at providing comprehensive exposure to power plant operations and technical practices, while the three-day programme for SJVN Limited General Managers is designed to enhance their technical knowledge, professional competencies and understanding of emerging developments in the power sector.
Sessions conducted by experts will cover topics such as the Power Generation, Transmission & Distribution Framework; Leadership Excellence and Empowerment (Leadership Styles); and Effective Managerial Communication.

The programmes are being conducted under the visionary leadership of Shri Hemant Jain, Director General, NPTI and Member (Grid Operation & Distribution), Central Electricity Authority (CEA).

Welcoming the participants, Dr. Vatsala Sharma, Director (Training), NPTI, encouraged them to actively participate in the training sessions and make the most of the learning opportunities provided by NPTI.

In her inaugural address, Dr. Indu Maheshwari, Principal Director (Training), NPTI, highlighted the importance of specialised capacity-building programmes in strengthening professional competencies. She emphasised that international training programmes also play an important role in promoting technical cooperation and strengthening friendly relations between India and Senegal.

The inaugural session concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Dr. Mahendra Singh, Deputy Director, NPTI.

Two-Week Training Programme for IndiGrid’s Diploma Engineer Trainees (DETs) Concludes at NPTI Faridabad

Faridabad: The two-week training programme for Diploma Engineer Trainees (DETs) of IndiGrid successfully concluded at the National Power Training Institute (NPTI), Corporate Office, Sector-33, Faridabad. The programme was conducted from 17 August to 28 August 2026, with participation from diploma engineers from Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh, Haryana and Rajasthan.

Shri Hemant Jain, Director General, NPTI and Member (Grid Operation & Distribution), Central Electricity Authority (CEA), presented certificates to all the participants who successfully completed the training programme and extended his best wishes for their bright and successful professional careers.

The training programme was organised under the dynamic leadership of Shri Hemant Jain, Director General, NPTI and Member (Grid Operation & Distribution), Central Electricity Authority (CEA), and under the guidance of Dr. Indu Maheshwari, Principal Director (Training), NPTI.

The programme was designed to provide participants with comprehensive technical knowledge and practical exposure to various aspects of the power sector, enabling them to enhance their professional capabilities and contribute effectively to their respective organisations.

Four-Week Power Plant Familiarization Training Programme for Senegal Participants Concludes at NPTI Faridabad

Faridabad: The four-week training programme on “Power Plant Familiarization and Operations” for participants from Sendou Power Station (CES), Senegal, successfully concluded today at the National Power Training Institute (NPTI), Sector-33, Faridabad. The programme was conducted from 3 August to 28 August 2026, followed by a certificate distribution ceremony.

The training programme was organised under the visionary leadership of Shri Hemant Jain, Director General, NPTI and Member (Grid Operation & Distribution), Central Electricity Authority (CEA), and under the guidance of Dr. Indu Maheshwari, Principal Director (Training), NPTI.

During the valedictory ceremony, Dr. Vatsala Sharma, Director (Training), NPTI, addressed the participants and extended her best wishes for their professional careers. She also invited the participants to benefit from NPTI’s future training programmes. Certificates were subsequently presented to all participants upon successful completion of the programme.

NPTI to Organise One-Day National Workshop on 5G Applications in Power Sector

Faridabad: The National Power Training Institute (NPTI), under the Ministry of Power, Government of India, in collaboration with the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), will organise a One-Day National Workshop on “5G Applications in the Power Sector” on 11 September 2026 at Dr. B. S. K. Naidu Auditorium, NPTI Corporate Office, Sector-33, Faridabad.

The workshop patrons will be Sh. Hemant Jain (Director General, NPTI-CO, Faridabad) and Sh. Radhacharan Shakya (ITS, Additional Director General & Head of Haryana LSA), while the coordinators will be Dr. S. Selvam (Principal Director, NPTI-CO, Faridabad) and Sh. Shailendra Sagar (Director [Technology], Haryana LSA).

The workshop aims to explore the transformative potential of 5G technology in the power sector and strengthen the capacity of technical professionals and faculty members through expert-led sessions and knowledge sharing.

Key areas of discussion will include Private 5G Networks, Smart Grid Communication, SCADA/PLC Integration, IoT, AI/ML applications, Cyber Security, spectrum regulation, and 5G-enabled network operations across power generation, transmission and distribution systems.

Eminent experts from the power and telecom sectors, academia, industry, and senior officers from Central and State Power Utilities are expected to participate in the workshop.

The programme will provide a platform for knowledge exchange on emerging technologies, digital transformation and best practices aimed at building secure, reliable and efficient power systems to meet the evolving demands of the future power sector.
