Power Plant Familiarization Training Programme for Participants from Senegal Commences at NPTI

Faridabad: A four-week training programme on Power Plant Familiarization and Operations for the participants from Sendou Power Station (CES), Senegal, commenced at the National Power Training Institute (NPTI), Sector-33, Faridabad. The training programme is being conducted from 03 August to 28 August 2026.

The programme was inaugurated by Shri Hemant Jain, Director General, NPTI and Member (Grid Operation & Distribution), Central Electricity Authority (CEA), and Dr. Indu Maheshwari, Principal Director (Training), NPTI, with the traditional lighting of the ceremonial lamp and Saraswati Vandana.

Addressing the participants, Shri Hemant Jain stated that such international training programmes play an important role in strengthening technical cooperation and friendly relations between India and Senegal. He also highlighted the various technical and practical aspects of power plant operations that would be covered during the training programme.

The programme will provide participants with theoretical and practical training on power plant operation, maintenance, and various technical aspects. The initiative reflects NPTI’s commitment to international capacity building in the energy sector and promoting technical cooperation between India and African countries.

The programme is being coordinated by Dr. Mahendra Singh, Deputy Director; Shri Rahul Pandey, Deputy Director; and Shri Anurag Rai, Assistant Director, NPTI.

33rd Batch of NPTI’s Mandatory Three-Week Foundation Training Programme Concludes with Certificate Distribution

Faridabad: The 33rd batch of the Mandatory Three-Week Foundation Training Programme successfully concluded at the National Power Training Institute (NPTI), Sector-33, Faridabad, under the Ministry of Power, Government of India.

More than 100 young officers from Central Public Sector Undertakings (CPSUs) under the Ministry of Power, including NHPC, DVC, SJVNL and the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), participated in the programme. Certificates of appreciation were presented to all participants. Trophies were also awarded to the winners and runners-up of various sports events organised during the programme.

Alongside this, a four-week training programme for Graduate Engineer Trainees (GETs – Power) of Hindalco Industries Limited was also successfully concluded, with around 12 participants taking part.

Both training programmes were conducted under the guidance of Shri Hemant Jain, Director General, NPTI and Member (Grid Operation & Distribution), Central Electricity Authority (CEA).

During the valedictory ceremony, Dr. S. Selvam, Principal Director; Dr. Indu Maheshwari, Principal Director (Training); and Shri Surendra Kumar, Director (Administration) presented certificates and trophies to the participants in recognition of their successful completion and achievements during the programmes.

The programmes were successfully coordinated by Dr. Mahendra Singh, Deputy Director; Shri Rahul Pandey, Deputy Director; and Shri Anurag Rai, Assistant Director, NPTI.

The successful completion of these programmes reflects NPTI’s continued commitment to strengthening professional competencies and developing future-ready human resources for India’s power sector.
