Swachh Bharat Mission Urban - Gujarat Mahatma Gandhi Swachha Bharat Mission- Gov of Gujarat “Cleanliness is Godliness” is the mantra of Mahatma Gandhiji, Father of Nation.

He demonstrated, propagated and insisted for individual and community cleanliness throughout his life. Following his footprints, Government of Gujarat launched Nirmal Gujarat Abhiyan from the year 2005. The campaign achieved encouraging results. In order to carry it forward and realize the dream of Mahatma Gandhi, the community with in fact sanitation and cleanliness of the State Government launch

ed Mahatma Gandhi Swachhata Mission on 26/02/2014 with a vision to make Gujarat open defecation free, Zero waste, dust free and green. The Government of India has launched Swachh Bharat Abhiyan on 2/10/2014 with a vision to dedicate Clean India on 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi on 2/10/2019. Mahatma Gandhi Swachhata Mission is integrated with Swachh Bharat Abhiyan towards realizing this laudable vision. This vision will be translated into action by bringing in community participation for adequate provision of clean toilets and integrated waste management. Vision

Through a creative on-ground awareness activity, AMC team members demonstrated the 4-bin waste segregation system, helping citizens understand what belongs in each dustbin, from wet and dry waste to sanitary and domestic hazardous waste. Correct segregation at source leads to better recycling, safer waste handling, and a cleaner Ahmedabad. Let's make every household a part of the change.

Training today for a cleaner tomorrow

Master Trainers’ Training on SWM Rules 2026 was successfully conducted in Gandhinagar to strengthen waste management practices and empower Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) for effective on-ground implementation.

The programme was held in the presence of of Pushp Lata, IAS, Mission Director and Deputy Mission Director, marking a significant step towards building stronger systems for sustainable waste management.
