The 3rd meeting of Public Accounts Committee [2026–27] was held today at State Legislators Hostel, Gangtok.

​The meeting was chaired by Hon’ble Chairman Committee on Public Accounts Shri Sonam Tshering Venchungpa and co-chaired by Hon’ble Chairman, Committee on Estimates & Member of PAC Shri Aditya Golay.

Officials including the Secretaries and representatives from SIMFED (Sikkim State Cooperative Supply and Marketing Federation Ltd.), DSSL, Land Revenue & Disaster Management Department (LR&DMD), GoS, Power Department, GoS
and IPP were present.

Hon’ble Speaker Sikkim Legislative Assembly Shri Mingma Norbu Sherpa and Hon’ble Deputy Speaker Sikkim Legislative Assembly Smt. Raj Kumari Thapa attended the celebration of two successful years tenure completion of Hon’ble Governor Shri Om Prakash Mathur at Lok Bhawan today i.e 31st July 2026.

The event was graced by Hon’ble Ministers, Cabinet Secretary, Chief Secretary and Officers and Staffs of Lok Bhawan. The event witnessed a culture program followed by felicitation of various Staffs working under Lok Bhawan Secretariat along with school toppers from all district, police personnel and traffic police.

Hon’ble Speaker in his address extended his heartfelt congratulations and best wishes on the completion of two successful and historic years of tenure of Hon’ble Governor Shri Om Prakash Mathur and wished him good health and continued success in days to come.

Hon’ble Speaker Sikkim Legislative Assembly Shri Mingma Norbu Sherpa attended the virtual meeting of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) India Region Zone III chaired by Hon’ble Speaker, Nagaland Legislative Assembly Shri Sharingain Longkumer also the Chairman of the CPA, India Region Zone III.

Hon’ble Presiding Officers and Secretaries of CPA India Region Zone III were present during the virtual meet.

The Hon'ble Speaker Sikkim Legislative Assembly, Shri Mingma Norbu Sherpa, accompanied by Hon’ble Deputy Speaker, Sikkim Legislative Assembly Smt. Raj Kumari Thapa, Secretary Sikkim Legislative Assembly Shri Lalit Kumar Gurung, Principal Director Sikkim Legislative Assembly, Shri Karma T. Gyatso Bhutia, Private Secretary to Hon’ble Speaker, Sikkim Legislative Assembly Shri Aadarsh Chhetri called on the Hon'ble Governor of Sikkim, Shri Om Prakash Mathur, at Lok Bhawan today.

During the call on ,Hon'ble Speaker extended a formal invitation to the Hon'ble Governor to deliver his address at the Budget Session 2026-27 scheduled for 20th July, 2026.

Hon'ble Governor graciously accepted the invitation and extended his best wishes for the successful conduct of the session.

Kolkata, 4th July, 2026: Hon’ble Speaker Sikkim Legislative Assembly Shri Mingma Norbu Sherpa attended the valedictory function of two days orientation program organized for newly elected Members of the 18th West Bengal Legislative Assembly hosted jointly by the West Bengal Legislative Assembly and Parliamentary Research and Training Institute for Democracies (PRIDE) of Lok Sabha at West Bengal Legislative Assembly.

The valedictory program was addressed by Shri Om Birla, Hon’ble Speaker, Lok Sabha, Shri R.N Ravi, Hon’ble Governor, West Bengal, Shri Ashim Kumar Ghosh, Hon’ble Governor, Haryana and Shri Rathindra Bose, Hon'ble Speaker, West Bengal Legislative Assembly.
