Supply & distribution of LPG cylinders in Sikkim remains steady, with the current backlog restricted to just 1.46 days, ensuring timely delivery to consumers across Sikkim

Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas, in coordination with the State Government and LPG distributors, continues to monitor supply lines closely to prevent disruptions. Adequate LPG stocks are being maintained at bottling plants and godowns to meet household demand.

सिक्किममा एलपीजी आपूर्तिको स्थिति स्थिर; बक्यौती 1.46 दिनमा सीमित
सिक्किममा एलपीजी सिलिण्डरको आपूर्ति एवं वितरण स्थिर रहनका साथै राज्यभरी उपभोक्तालाई समयमा वितरण सुनिश्चित गर्दै वर्तमान बक्यौती 1.46 दिनमा सीमित रहेको छ।

पेट्रोलियम एवं प्राकृतिक ग्यास मन्त्रालयले राज्य सरकारका साथै एलपीजी वितरकहरूसँगको तालमेलमा कुनै प्रकारको गतिरोध आइपर्न नदिन आपूर्ति शृङ्खलाको नजिकबाट निगरानी जारी राखेको छ। घरायसी माग पूरा गर्न बोटलिङ संयन्त्र अनि गोदामहरूमा एलपीजीको पर्याप्त भण्डार कायम गरिँदैछ।

सिक्किममा कूल थाँतीमा रहेको एलपीजी बुकिङ आजको मितिमा 5,284 रहेको छ। यसका विरुद्ध औसतमा दैनिक वितरण 3,618 सिलिण्डर रहेको छ। वितरणको यस गतिका साथ समग्र बक्यौती 1.46 दिनको बन्ने आइओसीएलका वरिष्ठ अधिकारीले जानकारी दिए, जसले अन्तिम कोशसम्म कुशल आपूर्ति शृङ्खला प्रबन्धन प्रतिबिम्बित गर्दछ।

नियमित एलपीजी कनेक्सन प्राप्त गर्न नसक्ने तथा एलपीजी पासबुक नभएका विद्यार्थी, प्रवासी मजदुर तथा अन्य अस्थायी निवासीहरूका लागि खाना पकाउने ग्यासको आवश्यकतामाथि जोड दिँदै गान्तोक जिल्लाको चुनिएका एलपीजी वितरण अनि एजेन्सीहरूमा 5 केजीको फ्री ट्रेड एलपीजी (एफटीएल) सिलिण्डर पनि उपलब्ध गराइँदैछ।

यसका साथै, सम्बन्धित राज्यका अधिकारीहरूले विभिन्न ईलेक्ट्रनिक तथा डिजिटल मञ्चको माध्यमद्वारा जनजागरूकता फैलाउनका साथै उपभोक्ताहरूलाई अनुकूल रूपमा योजना निर्धारित गर्न सक्षम बनाउन अर्को दिन एलपीजी सिलिण्डर वितरणको तालिका पनि नियमित रूपमा प्रकाशित गरिँदैछ।

सरकारले आवश्यक इन्धनको निर्बाध उपलब्धता सुनिश्चित गर्न सबै आवश्यक उपाय गरिरहेको हुँदा नागरिकहरूलाई अत्यासमा परी पेट्रोल, डिजल अनि एलपीजी खरिद नगर्न आग्रह गरेको छ। यसका साथै आम जनमानसलाई अफवाहबाट सतर्क रही केवल सटीक जानकारीका लागि आधिकारिक स्रोतमाथि निर्भर गर्न पनि सल्लाह दिइएको छ। खाली सिलिण्डर भर्नका लागि एलपीजी उपभोक्ताहरूलाई डिजिटल बुकिङ मञ्चको प्रयोग गरी अनावश्यक रूपमा वितरककहाँ भीड नजमाउन पनि अनुरोध गरिएको छ। विवेकपूर्ण उपायका रूपमा, नागरिकहरूलाई सम्भव भएसम्म ईलेक्ट्रिक वा इण्डक्सन कूकटप प्रयोग गर्न पनि नागरिकहरूलाई प्रोत्साहित गरिएको छ। सबै निवासीलाई वर्तमान स्थितिमा आफ्नो दैनिक कार्यका लागि ऊर्जा संरक्षणको चलन अपनाउन पनि आग्रह गरिएको छ।

Spices Board- ICRI, RRS, Gangtok organize Input Distribution Programme at Radhu Khandu, Dentam

The Spices Board Research Division of the Indian Cardamom Research Institute (ICRI), Regional Research Station, Gangtok, organized an Input Distribution Programme on 24 March 2026 at Radhu Khandu GPU under Dentam. The programme was conducted under the All India Coordinated Research Project on Spices (AICRPS), Indian Council of Agricultural Research - Indian Institute of Spices Research (ICAR-IISR) Kozhikode, in collaboration with the Sankhu Radhu Khandu Field Publicity Office (FPO).

The event was graced by the Honourable MLA of the 03-Maneybong-Dentam constituency, Shri Sudesh Kumar S***a, as the Chief Guest, while Smt. Tarmit Lepcha, Zila Panchayat member of the 14 Hee Sangkhu Territorial Constituency, attended as Guest of Honour.

In his address, Shri Sudesh Kumar S***a outlined the developmental initiatives undertaken by the Government of Sikkim under the leadership of the Honourable Chief Minister. He emphasized the importance of village-level development and highlighted agriculture, horticulture, and animal husbandry as key sectors for improving livelihoods. He appreciated the efforts of the Spices Board in expanding large cardamom cultivation in the constituency and suggested organizing exposure visits for farmers to regions practicing advanced cultivation techniques.

Shri S***a also emphasized the need to establish a large cardamom research centre in the constituency, given its significance as a major cardamom-growing area.
Smt. Tarmit Lepcha urged farmers to benefit from the various schemes of the Spices Board and enhance their income through large cardamom cultivation.

The programme commenced with a welcome address by Shri Bimal Kumar Thapa, Panchayat President of SRK GPU. Dr. S. S. Bora, Scientist-C and In-charge of AICRPS at Spices Board-ICRI, Gangtok, elaborated on the objectives and activities undertaken under the Development of Model Nursery Village Programme in Sikkim. This was followed by Dr. T. N. Deka, Scientist-C, who highlighted the ongoing research and developmental activities of ICRI.
Shri P. T. Lepcha, Deputy Director, Regional Office, Spices Board, spoke about various schemes being implemented for the development of large cardamom in Sikkim. He also highlighted the recently launched weather-based insurance scheme for large cardamom, introduced on a pilot basis by the Spices Board, and encouraged farmers to take advantage of it.

During the programme, organic inputs such as IMO-certified manure, bio-agents, and bio-pesticides including Trichoderma, Pseudomonas, and neem oil were distributed to to 22 beneficiaries under the Development of Model Nursery Village Programme, funded through the NEH component of AICRPS. beneficiaries to promote the production of healthy, disease-free, and high-quality planting material.

The programme was attended by Panchayat members of Radhu Khandu Panchayat, along with other dignitaries of the constituency. Around 80 farmers participated in the event. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Shri Narayan Bhattarai, CEO of SRK FPO.

MSME-DFO Gangtok is organizing an Exhibition-cum-Trade Fair under the PM Vishwakarma Scheme

The Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises – Development & Facilitation Office (MSME-DFO), Gangtok is organizing an Exhibition-cum-Trade Fair under the PM Vishwakarma Scheme on February 19-20, 2026, at Mahatma Gandhi Marg (M.G. Marg), Gangtok. This event aims to provide a marketing platform to local artisans and beneficiaries of the PM Vishwakarma Scheme to showcase their traditional crafts and products, promote entrepreneurship, and strengthen market linkages.

Speaking at a press conference today, Shri Nirmal Chowdhury, Head of Office, MSME-DFO Gangtok, invited the public to visit the 2-day Trade Fair and support local artisans. He announced that the event will be inaugurated on February 19, 2026, at 3:00 PM and will also include a seminar on Digital Marketing to enhance artisans' digital capabilities. The seminar will cover topics such as online marketing platforms, use of social media for business promotion, digital payment systems, branding, packaging, and e-commerce opportunities.

The Exhibition-cum-Trade Fair is expected to witness participation from numerous artisans, entrepreneurs, stakeholders, and members of the public. The event is a significant opportunity for local artisans to display their products and promote entrepreneurship in the State.

Shri Akshay Murkute, Assistant Director Gr.I, highlighted the success of Sikkim artisans in a recent exhibition at Delhi Haat, New Delhi, where one Sikkim artisan recorded the maximum sales among participants, which reflects the growing demand and appreciation for the State’s traditional craftsmanship at the national level.

Dr. Rahul Kamble, Assistant Director, MSME-DFO, Gangtok, informed that PM Vishwakarma artisans from Sikkim were invited as special guests to witness the Republic Day Parade on January 26, 2026, at Kartavya Path, New Delhi, in recognition of their outstanding craftsmanship.

Smt. Nisha Rani, Assistant Director, emphasized the importance of awareness programs under the PM Vishwakarma Scheme, which have been organized in all districts of Sikkim to ensure maximum outreach and inclusion of eligible beneficiaries.

The officials collectively emphasized that the upcoming Exhibition-cum-Trade Fair at M.G. Marg, Gangtok will provide a significant platform for local artisans to display their products, promote entrepreneurship, and strengthen the MSME ecosystem in the State.

NIC Sikkim Observes “Safer Internet Day 2026” with Focus on Safe Use of AI

The National Informatics Centre (NIC), Sikkim State Unit successfully organized the ‘Safer Internet Day 2026’ programme on 10th February 2026 at NIC Sikkim State Unit, Gangtok, under the theme “Smart Tech, Safe Choices – Exploring the Safe and Responsible Use of AI.” The programme was conducted as per the directives of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) to promote awareness on digital safety and responsible internet use.

The event commenced with a welcome address, followed by the screening of messages from the Chief Secretary and Secretary, IT Department, Government of Sikkim, emphasizing the importance of safe and ethical use of digital technologies.

Expert presentations were delivered by officials from NIC Sikkim and the Cyber Crime Cell, CB-CID, Police Department, covering topics such as safe internet practices, cyber threats related to AI, and the mechanism to report cybercrime through the national helpline 1930.

The programme witnessed active participation from officials of various departments, teachers and students from institutes and colleges virtually, along with viewers on the Government of Sikkim’s official page. The day was also observed across all NIC District Administrative Centres in Sikkim, reinforcing the message of digital safety and responsible internet use at the grassroots level. In addition, more than 115 locations were connected through active and passive links facilitated by NIC via Bharat VC platform, resulting in the participation of more than 1300 individuals and ensuring wide reach and meaningful engagement.

An interactive discussion session further enriched the programme, making it informative and engaging. The event concluded with a vote of thanks, marking the programme as a successful and impactful initiative in promoting digital safety and awareness.
