SENSA Holds Annual General Meeting at Singtam

Singtam, 09 August 2026: The Sikkim Ex Naval Sailors Association (SENSA) successfully conducted its Annual General Meeting (AGM) today at Nepali Dharamshala, Singtam, bringing together naval veterans and members of the association to review its activities, discuss important matters concerning the fraternity, and chart the way forward.

The meeting commenced with a welcome address by the General Secretary, who warmly welcomed all members and highlighted the significance of the gathering in strengthening the spirit of unity and camaraderie among naval veterans in Sikkim.

As part of the proceedings, newly retired members who recently joined the association were formally welcomed by the President with Khada, marking their induction into the SENSA family and recognising their dedicated service to the nation.

In his opening address, the President highlighted the importance and role of SENSA in fostering brotherhood among naval veterans, extending mutual support and welfare, and serving as a platform for addressing issues concerning its members. He also briefed the house on the recent achievements and initiatives of the association and outlined the proposed future course of action for strengthening the and expanding its activities.

The Treasurer presented the current fund status of the association, providing members with an overview of its financial position and receipts and expenditure. He also emphasised the importance of adopting the digital platform for payment of membership fees, with the objective of ensuring greater transparency, convenience and proper financial record-keeping.

The meeting thereafter opened the floor for discussion and deliberation. Members actively participated and placed various points, suggestions and proposals before the house. Several issues concerning the association and the welfare of its members were discussed in detail, with a number of proposals being approved by the house for further implementation.

It was also noted with regret that a number of members could not attend the AGM due to the prevailing/interrupted road conditions, which affected connectivity and travel to Singtam. The association acknowledged their absence and expressed the hope that all members would be able to participate in future programmes.

The AGM concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by the Publicity Secretary, who expressed gratitude to all members for their participation, valuable suggestions and continued support towards the objectives and growth of SENSA.

The AGM reaffirmed SENSA’s commitment to unity, transparency, welfare and continued camaraderie among naval veterans, while collectively working towards a stronger and more purposeful association in the days ahead.

Dear Members,

This is to inform all members that the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Sikkim Ex Naval Sailors Association (SENSA), which was scheduled to be held on 26 July 2026 (Sunday),has been postponed.

The AGM has been rescheduled to 09 August 2026 (Sunday) due to the inauguration of the Rajya Sainik Bhawan at Gangtok by the Hon’ble Chief Minister, scheduled on 26 July.

Members are requested to kindly note the revised date and make it convenient to attend the AGM on *09 August 2026*. The venue and timing remain unchanged.

The inconvenience caused is sincerely regretted.

SENSA Families Get-Together

The SENSA Families Get-Together was organised at on 08 Feb 26 in a spirit of unity, joy, and naval camaraderie, commencing at 0900 hrs in a lively and welcoming atmosphere. The event saw enthusiastic participation from ex-naval families, turning the gathering into a memorable celebration of togetherness.

The programme began with a delicious and well-prepared breakfast served to all families, setting a cheerful tone for the day. This was followed by various engaging games for children and the proud wives of Ex-Navy personnel, which generated immense excitement and laughter. The energy, enthusiasm, and zeal displayed by the families—especially the children—added colour and vibrancy to the occasion.

An Open Mic session was organised to encourage and showcase hidden talents within the SENSA fraternity. Talented singers mesmerised the audience, and the session soon turned into a joyful musical jam, accompanied by light drinks, creating a relaxed and festive environment.

The gathering concluded on a delightful note with a sumptuous and delicious lunch, enjoyed by all amid warm interactions and shared moments.

Beyond enjoyment and recreation, the programme beautifully reflected the pride of being part of the naval fraternity, highlighting the unwavering support of families and their unbreakable bond with SENSA. The event stood as a testimony to unity, respect, and the enduring spirit of naval families.

The organisers sincerely acknowledge Ms. S***a, Proprietor of , for providing all necessary services with a level of dedication and excellence that goes beyond words of appreciation, along with Aghya Catering, Gyalshing District, and the dedicated chefs Bhai and Bhai, whose outstanding culinary arrangements significantly contributed to the overall success of the programme and the satisfaction of all participants.

Those who could not attend later expressed that they missed the gathering immensely, sharing their regret at being absent from such a joyful and meaningful occasion—further reflecting how memorable and special the event truly was.
