SENSA Celebrates Navy Day 2025 with the Theme “Fire Safety Awareness”

Gangtok, December 4, 2025

The Sikkim Ex-Naval Sailors Association (SENSA) proudly celebrated Navy Day 2025 today, marking a historic milestone as Sikkim hosted its first-ever Navy Day event centered around the theme “Fire Safety Awareness.”

The occasion was graced by Shri Delay Namgyal Barfungpa, Honourable MLA and Advisor, Urban Development Department, Government of Sikkim, who attended as the Chief Guest. Also present were the Station House Officer, Sadar PS, representatives from the Fire & Emergency Services Department, officials from various Ex-Servicemen Associations and several invited dignitaries.

The day commenced with an energetic two-wheeler rally from Rangpo to Gangtok. Along the route, participants engaged with the public, spreading vital messages on fire safety and preventive awareness. The rally concluded at MG Marg, where a series of impactful, educational activities unfolded.

A detailed lecture on Fire Safety Awareness, followed by a live fire demonstration, captured the attention of the general public and emphasized the importance of community readiness during fire-related emergencies. Attendees actively volunteered to operate fire extinguishers under expert supervision, a gesture widely appreciated by both authorities and onlookers.

Adding to the event’s significance was a dedicated Fire & Emergency Services exhibition stall, which showcased modern firefighting equipment, tools, and techniques used in contemporary emergency response.

The celebration successfully blended the pride of Navy Day with a socially meaningful theme. With enthusiastic participation from naval veterans, ex-servicemen, and the community, the event concluded on a high note, reaffirming SENSA’s ongoing commitment to promoting public awareness, safety, and service.
