NSS Pandu College’s NSS Master Trainer Programme has successfully concluded, marking a milestone in our commitment to community service and professional excellence. Over the week-long programme (March 13–21, 2025), we conducted a series of in-depth sessions across three critical areas: Care of Elderly People, Safety & Security of Women, and Disaster Management & First Aids.
• Day 1 – March 13, 2025:
The programme opened with an inspiring inaugural ceremony attended by integral Youth Affairs Ministers. Our chief guest, Hon'ble Minister Smt. Nandita Gorlosa, Minister, Sports and Youth Welfare, Govt. of Assam, graced the event. The day set the tone with an introductory session on group formation and the theme “Today's Youth for Yesterday's Youth,” followed by sessions on empathy, leadership, and volunteerism led by Dr. S Roy Chowdhury, Sri Dipak Kumar, and more.
• Day 2 – March 17, 2025:
Focused on elderly care, this day featured sessions covering key fields of activity and challenges, a practical training on yoga and meditation, and discussions on establishing a community-driven and sustainable care model. Expert speakers, including Dr. Rituparna Borah and Dr. Satyabrata Barua, guided the participants.
• Day 3 – March 18, 2025:
Dedicated to the safety and security of women, sessions on this day introduced the programme objectives and highlighted the challenges in the field. Comprehensive self-defence training sessions, conducted in two parts by Sri N.C Rao, equipped participants with practical safety skills.
• Day 4 – March 19, 2025:
This day delved deeper into women’s safety with discussions on security measures, gender equality, and economic empowerment. Sessions on legal awareness and sensitisation for boys and men, led by experts including Dr. Navaneeta Baruah and Dr. Dipanjali Haloi, provided further insights.
• Day 5 – March 20, 2025:
Focusing on disaster management and first aid, participants were introduced to key concepts of disaster risk reduction, preparedness techniques, and the essentials of first aid. These sessions ensured that everyone is equipped with life-saving skills in times of emergency.
