Successfully completed a five-days hands-on training on “Sampling Techniques and Diagnosis of Infectious Diseases of Veterinary Importance,” organized by the Directorate of Extension Education (Veterinary), AAU, Khanapara, in collaboration with the Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Department, GoA, and sponsored by EEI-NE Region, AAU, Khanapara, for field veterinarians of Assam representing 20 different districts, held from 6th to 10th October, 2025.

A five-day skill training titled “Scientific Dairy Management " was organized by the Directorate of Extension Education (Veterinary), Assam Agricultural University (AAU), Khanapara in collaboration with Sikkim Livestock Development Board, AH&VS Department, Govt. of Sikkim from 21st to 25th July, 2025 with an aim of bringing new hopes to the dairy sector of Sikkim. The inaugural session was graced by Dr. Probodh Borah, Director of Research (Veterinary), AAU, Khanapara and representatives from SLDB. Senior Extension Specialist from the Directorate, Dr J. R. Bora and Dr. L. Bora were the Course Director and Course Coordinator, respectively. Various experts provided their inputs were from the College of Veterinary Science, Khanapara; Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Department, GoA; NERAMAC and private partners.

As part of a vision to build a 25-year roadmap toward a self-reliant and prosperous Assam (Atmanirbhar Assam) during the “Amrit Kaal,” a one-day session titled “Livestock and Poultry Development in Assam – The Way Forward” was organized on 9th June 2025 by the Directorate of Extension Education (Veterinary), AAU, Khanapara, in collaboration with the Extension Education Institute (NE), AAU, Khanapara. The event, held in the Conference Hall of EEI (NE), brought together stakeholders including researchers, technocrats, extension specialists, industry partners, input providers, and livestock entrepreneurs. The inaugural session was graced by Dr. Dandeswar Deka, President of the Assam Veterinary Council, Sri Loken Das, Chief General Manager, NABARD, Dr. Probodh Borah, the Director of Research (Veterinary), AAU, Khanapara and Dr. Rajumoni Bordoloi, Director, EEI (NE Region). The organizers expresses sincere gratitude to all experts and officials from Government and non-government organization, entrepreneurs and input providers for providing valuable insights in making the event a successful one.

A Livestock Entrepreneurs and Experts Meet was organised by the Directorate of Extension Education, AAU, Khanapara in collaboration with Directorate of Extension Education, AAU, Jorhat on 28th March, 2025 with participation of researchers from College of Veterinary Science and AAU, frontline extension workers from Krishi Vigyan Kendra and experts from the Directorate. There was active participation of Officials from state Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Department, Dairy Development Department, Bankers, CEDSI, ASCI, NERAMAC and Livestock entrepreneurs.

A two days duration training cm Exposure visit to Model Pig Breeding & Fattening unit for CSP/ SHG members/block official working under TRLM organized by DoEE, AAU, Khanapara sponsored by DMMU, NRLM, South Tripura completed today following knowledge sharing through Exposure visit to Base Breeding Pig Farm, AH&VD, GoA, Pig cm Fish unit in the field of Assam Gaurav Sri Debajit Barman and a Regional Awardee Sri Balin Gogoi of Nalbari district. We are very much thankful to all who rendered their active cooperation including Dr Dulajit Pathak, I/c Manager, BBPF and Dr. Namita Saud, I/c Boar Semen Station of AH&VD, GoA, Dr. P. K. Pathak, SS& Head, KVK-Nalbari, Dr. Nilotpal Das, SMS (Anim. Sci.), KVK-Nalbari and DMMU, NRLM, South Tripura for successful completion of the training.

A two Days HRD Training programme for SMS and PA of AAU-KVKs under Animal and Fishery Science in "Recent Advances in Animal and Fishery Science" organized by DoEE, AAU, Jorhat in collaboration with DoEE (Veterinary), AAU, Khanapara during 12-13 March, under Course Director Dr. Bhrigu kr. Neog, Scientist, DoEE, AAU, Jorhat and assisted by Dr. Lema Bora, SES, DoEE, AAU, Khanapara was completed. The participants were taught by eminent experts from the respective field with recent technologies including production of enriched Banana pseudostem silage as non conventional feed for cattle, Caponization in poultry, Aquaculture diversification for sustainable Fisheries development, Climate resilient fishery technologies in Assam, quality improvement of paddy straw, disease prevention through biosecurity measures in pig farm etc and practical exposure to poultry hatchery and animal slaughter house. The valedictory session was graced by Dr. Rajumoni Bordoloi, Director, EEI (NE region), GoI (under AAU), Dr. Motiur Rahman, Joint Director, IVB, AH&VD, GoA and Dr. H. K. Bhattacharyya, ADEE, AAU, Khanapara.

A one day Brain storming session on " Use of s*x sorted semen in cows under field condition" was organized by Directorate of Extension Education (DoEE) (Veterinary), AAU, Khanapara in collaboration with Assam Livestock Development Agency (ALDA), GoA and DoEE, AAU, Jorhat involving researchers from the College of Veterinary Science, Khanapara and the University and experts from KVKs, AI technicians and farmers, the ultimate beneficiaries represented from the districts of Kamrup, Nalbari, Baksa, Darang and Morigaon. The various issues related to research, extension and expansion of the programme for larger benefit of the farming community was discussed. The programme was graced by many dignitaries including Dr Probodh Bora, Director of Research (Veterinary), AAU, Khanapara, Dr Monideep Das, CEO, ALDA, Resource persons Dr. Manoj Kumar Goswami, Manager, Operations, ALDA and Dr Anupam Thakuria, Nodal Officer, ABIP-SS, ALDA, Dr. H. K. Bhattacharyya, ADEE, AAU, Khanapara, Dr. D. Bhuyan, Chief Scientist, AAU- GRS, Dr. Abdul Hafiz, Head KVK, Darang, Dr. Jugabrata Nath, VAS, Darang and officer GBKPS etc.

The programme was co-ordinated by Dr. Leema Bora, Senior Extension Specialist, ADEE, AAU, Khanapara.
