Green Day and Raksha Bandhan Celebration.
The Green Day and Raksha Bandhan Celebration was organised with great enthusiasm and joy for the children of EEDP(Nursery to Class II). The celebration aimed to create awareness about the importance of nature and the colour green, while also introducing the children to the beautiful values and traditions associated with Raksha Bandhan.
The programme began with a warm welcome to the young learners. The children came dressed in green attire, creating a vibrant and refreshing atmosphere. Various green-coloured objects, leaves, plants, fruits and vegetables were introduced to the children. Through engaging activities, the students learnt about the importance of trees and plants and the need to keep our surroundings clean and green.
The children also participated enthusiastically in colouring, craft work, leaf activities, green-themed art and other fun-filled classroom activities. They enjoyed singing rhymes and songs related to nature and the colour green. The activities helped develop their creativity, observation skills and awareness of the environment.
The Raksha Bandhan Celebration was also organised with great excitement. The children were introduced to the significance of Raksha Bandhan and the values of love, care, respect, bonding and togetherness. They made beautiful Rakhis and decorated Raksha Bandhan thalis using colourful craft materials. The little ones participated happily in the activities and expressed their affection for their siblings through their creative work.
Teachers explained that festivals are not only occasions for celebration but also opportunities to learn about our culture, traditions, relationships and values. The children thoroughly enjoyed the celebrations and participated with great excitement and confidence.
The celebration provided a joyful and meaningful learning experience for the young learners. It successfully combined environmental awareness, creativity, cultural learning and value education in a child-friendly manner.
The programme concluded with appreciation for the active participation of all the children and the sincere efforts of the teachers. The Green Day and Raksha Bandhan Celebration was a memorable and enriching experience for all the EEDP (Nursery to Class II )students.

A District Youth & School Summit and Youth Activation Programme was organized at the ATL Lab of DAV Public School, CCL, Giridih, by the Giridih District Unit of Special Olympics Bharat (SOB), Jharkhand. The programme was conducted with the inspiring message “Unite, Inspire, Lead”, with the primary objective of motivating young people towards leadership and fostering sensitivity, equality, and inclusion towards children with special needs.
Around 100 students from Classes X, XI, and XII participated enthusiastically in the programme. The Event Manager, Mr. Shubham Kumar Jha, apprised the students of the various activities undertaken by Special Olympics Bharat and the opportunities available for children with special needs. He emphasized that such children should not be restricted to sports alone but should be provided opportunities to showcase their talents in diverse fields and develop their leadership abilities.
A special highlight of the programme was the recognition of Prateek, a student of Class XII, for his remarkable achievement. Prateek had represented the school at the National Youth Leadership Summit of Special Olympics Bharat held in Himachal Pradesh. In recognition of his commendable participation and achievement, he was felicitated and presented with a Certificate on the occasion.
The Principal of the school, Mr. O. P. Goyal, highly appreciated the commendable efforts of Mr. Shubham Kumar Jha in organizing the programme. He emphasized that children with special needs should be provided with equal opportunities, respect, encouragement, and a supportive environment so that they can recognize their potential, move forward with confidence, and bring pride to their families, school, and the nation.
The programme conveyed a meaningful message of inclusion, equality, sensitivity, and youth leadership to the students. 🇮🇳 A Celebration of Freedom, Pride and Excellence 🇮🇳
DAV Public School, CCL, Giridih celebrated the 80th Independence Day with immense pride, patriotic fervour and an unforgettable display of talent, creativity and togetherness.
The august occasion was graced by the presence of our Chief Guest, Mr. Kanhaiya Shankar Gaiwal, Honourable GM ,CCL Giridih Area cm LMC Chairman whose gracious presence added immense significance to the celebration.
One of the most distinctive features of the celebration was the entrance theme created for the Chief Guest and other dignitaries. As they made their way towards the stage, the entire pathway came alive with students representing DAV institutions from different parts of the country, symbolising the vast and ever-growing presence of the DAV family across India.
The programme began on a dignified note, followed by the successful hoisting of the National Flag. After the successful hoisting of the National Flag, the Welcome Address was delivered by our esteemed Principal, Mr. O. P. Goyal, who highlighted the remarkable achievements of the school and appreciated the collective efforts of students and teachers in nurturing excellence beyond the classroom.
What followed was a spectacular cultural presentation that truly reflected the spirit of “Unity in Diversity.”. The cultural programme commenced with a warm welcome, followed by a soulful patriotic group song that beautifully set the tone for the celebration of the nation’s spirit. The Kids’ Dance, presented by 50 enthusiastic students, was a spectacular visual treat, with their vibrant costumes, perfect rhythm, energetic movements and melodious presentation captivating the audience and earning huge applause.
The patriotic dance performance was vibrant and deeply moving, while the folk dance on Rajasthani theme beautifully celebrated the richness of our cultural heritage.
The most poignant moment of the programme was the drama on old age. Presented with remarkable sensitivity and maturity, the performance touched the deepest emotions of the audience. There were moist eyes and an overwhelming silence as the message unfolded, followed by a thunderous round of applause. It was a performance that did not merely entertain—it made everyone pause, feel and reflect.
The programme also witnessed the much-awaited declaration of the C**k House for theSession 2025–26, recognising the house that emerged as the best in co-curricular and other activities. The much-awaited C**k House for the session 2025–26 was proudly clinched by Vivekanand House, while Tagore House emerged as the C**k House for the EEDP Group, marking their outstanding performance, teamwork and consistent excellence across various activities.
The results of the Display Board Competition organised on the eve of Independence Day 2026 were also announced, celebrating the students’ creativity, awareness and commitment.
Adding another delightful dimension to the celebration, children dressed as “Best Out of Waste,” Harmanpreet Kaur, Kalpana Chawla, and the inspiring tribal freedom fighters Phulo and Jhano Murmu appeared as interludes, bringing their characters to life with confidence and charm and winning the hearts of everyone present.

In his address, Chief Guest Mr. Kanhaiya Shankar Gaiwal expressed his appreciation for the exceptionally high standard of the programme. He lauded the students for performing beyond expectations and shared how deeply he was impressed by the overall aura, discipline and energy of the school. His words were a true appreciation of the collective effort behind the celebration.
A particularly heartwarming feature of the occasion was the presence of our retired teachers, including Mrs. Shabana, Mrs. Sushma Sinha, Mr. S. K. Mitra, Mr. Arjun Kumar and others. Their presence made the celebration even more special, reminding everyone that the story of a school is built by generations of teachers and learners. Their return to the campus and participation in the celebration added a beautiful emotional dimension to the day.
The programme was anchored with confidence and grace by our talented students Harsh*ta Kumari(XI)Divyaansh Prateek (XI)and Mayansi(V)whose excellent coordination and stage presence kept the programme flowing seamlessly.Speech on the occasion was delivered by Ummulwara (XI)
The Vote of Thanks was proposed by Mr. Yogeshwar Sharma, expressing gratitude to the dignitaries, teachers, parents, students and everyone whose contribution made the celebration a grand success.
From the fluttering Tricolour to the inspiring performances, from the proud achievements of our students to the emotional reunion with our retired teachers, the celebration reflected what DAV Public School, CCL, Giridih truly stands for—values, excellence, creativity, discipline and a deep sense of responsibility towards the nation.
It was more than an Independence Day programme.

The celebration was inaugurated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony by Respected Sharma Sir, Kakoli Madam, and Ruby Tiwari, marking the beginning of the colourful event. Their gracious presence encouraged the young learners and made the occasion even more special.
The classrooms were beautifully decorated with yellow-themed decorations, creating a bright and cheerful atmosphere. The children came dressed in beautiful yellow outfits and brought various yellow-coloured objects, making the celebration vibrant and lively.
The programme began with a brief introduction to the importance of the colour yellow, symbolizing happiness, positivity, and energy. The tiny tots arrived dressed in beautiful red outfits and brought various red-coloured objects, including fruits, flowers, toys, balloons, and other attractive items. The classrooms were decorated with red-themed displays, creating a vibrant and joyful atmosphere.
The event was graced by the presence of our respected Principal Sir Mr.O.P Goyal, who visited the classrooms, appreciated the creativity and confidence of the children, and encouraged them to continue learning through interactive and joyful activities. Along with the Board toppers, all the pass-out students of the 2025–26 batch were also felicitated and blessed as they embarked on a new phase of their academic journey.
The programme was graced by the esteemed Deputy Commissioner of Giridih, Shri Ram Niwas Yadav, as the Chief Guest.
