“Swachhata Hi Seva 2024 - Goalpara Municipal Board: Swachh Bharat Cultural Fest”

As part of the Swachh Bharat Cultural Fest under the Swachhata Hi Seva 2024 initiative, the following activities were organized by Goalpara MB:

1. Waste to Art Exhibition: A unique display featuring art created from waste materials, including a selfie point and a small-sized bike. School students and SHG members showcased various art items made from waste materials.

2. Dance Performance: The Priti Nittya Kala Kendra of Goalpara performed a dance program centered on the theme song of door-to-door waste collection, promoting cleanliness through art.

3. Music and Singing: Local artists from Goalpara town performed traditional music, adding a cultural touch to the event.

Meeting for Urban-Rural Convergence in Goalpara

A productive meeting was held today between the DC Goalpara, Goalpara Municipal Board, Balijana Block Office, PHED Goalpara and UNICEF to discuss the future of urban-rural collaboration. In an effort to promote development and cleanliness throughout the district, it was decided that the F***l Sludge Treatment Plant (FSTP) in the municipal area and the Plastic Waste Management Unit in Balijana Block will be shared between urban and rural communities.

This collaboration aims to ensure cleaner surroundings, better waste management, and enhanced sanitation, paving the way for a cleaner, healthier, and more developed Goalpara. Together, we strive towards a brighter, cleaner future for all.
