The school organised Inter House Science Exhibition for the Session 2026-27 on 10 Aug 26.The exhibition was inaugurated by Lt Col Pinaki Maulik, Vice Principal. The theme of the exhibition was ‘Science and technology for sustainable future’. Dr Ranjit Choudhury, Associate Professor, HoD, Physics, Goalpara College graced the competition as the Chief Judge. The panel also included Dr Dharmeswar Barman, Associate professor, Dept of Botany and Dr Rakesh Mazumdar, Assistant professor, Dept of Chemistry, both from Goalpara College. Vice Principal felicitated the judges with traditional Assamese ‘gamosa’. The exhibition was held in three categories i.e. Category-I (IX-XI), Category-II (VII-VIII) & Category-III (VI). A total of 56 cdts participated in the exhibition that witnessed 28 exhibits. The event was coordinated by Science Dept of the school.

SSG U-14 Boys’ Basketball team brought laurels to the school by emerging as the champion of the CBSE Cluster-I (U-14 Boys) Basketball Tournament 2026, hosted by Miles Bronson Residential School,Borjhar, Guwahati from 07 to 09 Aug 26. Cadet Abhishek Chetry (Class IX) of SSG was awarded the ‘Best Player’s Trophy (U-14 Boys)’. A total of 17 teams from different parts of the North Eastern region participated in the tournament. Along with SSG U-14 Boys’ Basketball team, the U-17 Boys’ team of the school also participated in the tournament and qualified for the quarter-finals. The teams were escorted by Mr Vinay Pandey, TGT and Mr Kaif Irfan Tanvir Ahmed, Basketball Coach.

SSG U-17 Boys’ Volleyball team brought laurels to the school by emerging as the champion of the CBSE Cluster-I (U-17 Boys) Volleyball Tournament 2026, hosted by Kaziranga English Academy, Guwahati from 04 to 06 Aug 26. Cadet Rajesh Kumar Murmu (Class X) of SSG was awarded the ‘Best Player’s Trophy (U-17 Boys)’. A total of 17 teams from different schools of the North Easter region participated in the tournament. Along with SSG U-17 Boys’ Volleyball team, the U-17 Boys’ team of the school also participated in the tournament. The school organised Inter House Hockey Competition for the Session 2026-27 from 04 to 07 Aug 26. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from six houses of the school. Chilarai House emerged as the winner of the competition. The second position was bagged by Eklavya House. Cdt Divyansh Jaiswal (Class IX) and Cdt Ashish Raj (Class XI) were adjudged the 'Best Goalkeeper' and the 'Best Player' of the event respectively. Col D K Vishwakarma, Principal, complimented all the players for their remarkable skills and sportsmanship. He felicitated the winners and the runners-up with medals and certificates. The school organised Inter House Assamese Debate Competition for for the Session 2026-27 on 07 Aug 26. A total of 12 participants (Class VII-IX) from six houses participated in the competition. Cdt Raktim Borah (VIII) clinched the first position whereas, Cdt Mriganka Kalita (IX) and Cdt Shupratim Konowar (VIII) jointly secured the second position. Lachit House emerged as the winner of the competition. Eklavya House and Udaigiri House bagged the second and the third positions respectively. Col D K Vishwakarma, Principal complimented the winners and felicitated them with certificates of appreciation. The event was coordinated by Mrs P Kalita, TGT.

The school organised the Inter-House Art Competition for the Session 2026–27 on 07 Aug 2026 that witnessed enthusiastic participation from a total of 47 cadets. The competition was held in two categories: Juniors (Classes VII–VIII) and Seniors (Classes IX–XI). The themes were ‘The Beauty of Nature’ for the Juniors and ‘India’s Cultural Heritage’ for the Seniors. The event provided the cadets with a vibrant platform to showcase their creativity and artistic talent. Mr Panchanan Saikia, Art Teacher, coordinated the event.

SSG organised a Health Screening Camp in the school from 19 to 22 Jul 26 in collaboration with the Sanjibani Health Team under the Health Department, Goalpara District. During the four-day camp, cadets and staff underwent comprehensive health check-ups, including chest X-ray examinations. Symptomatic treatment and essential medications were also provided to those requiring medical attention. The camp was coordinated by Mrs Nilima Phukan, Nursing Assistant of the school.

The school organized Inter-House Basketball Competition for Boys’ U-15, U-17, and Girls for the Session 2026–27 from 20 Jul to 01 Aug 26. A total of 16 teams participated in the competition. In U-15 category, Aniruddha House emerged as the champions whereas, Lohit House secured the title in U-17 category. In Girls’ category, Team ‘A’ clinched the winner’s position. Aniruddha House also excelled overall lifted the championship trophy. Cadet Manab Pradhan (Class VIII) and Cadet Prince Singha (Class X) were adjudged the ‘Best Players’ in U-15 and U-17 categories respectively. In the Girls’ category, Cadet Rohana B Barbhuiya (Class VIII) was awarded the ‘Best Player’ title. Col D K Vishwakarma, Principal, congratulated the budding cadets for their outstanding display of skill, determination and teamwork. As part of ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ campaign 2026, SSG organised a ‘Quiz’ competition on 26 Jul 2026 to spread awareness about its paired state Rajasthan among the cadets of the school. A total of 42 cadets of Class X participated in the event. It was coordinated by Mr A Islam, TGT.
