In a cinema-style operation around midnight, Gulbarga - گلبرگہ Deputy Commissioner Yeshwanth Gurukar pursued and caught BJP activists who had switched off the street lights at Sangamesh Colony and distributing money among voters, in South constituency on May 8.

As per information gathered from multiple sources, Mr. Gurukar, who is also the District Election Officer, was alerted about suspicious activity. He rushed to the spot without even informing the police department. He saw a few cars and some persons distributing money at the spot, which was dark as the street lights were switched off.

Kalaburagi Deputy Commissioner Yeshwanth Gurukar caught the driver of the vehicle and another person. However, one more person escaped with a bag containing money. Mr. Gurukar could not identify the person (who escaped) as the area was dark

Bagalkot - ಬಾಗಲಕೋಟೆ police arrested Siddharoodha Srikant Nirale, who created a fake online identity of a youth 'Mushtaq Ali' to threaten a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) legislator and post series of hateful comments against Hindus.

Police had registered a case following complaints by some right-wing activists. Investigators caught his digital footprint and confirmed his identity, police sources said.

The accused faces charges of creating a fake Facebook profile in the name of Mushtaq Ali and threatening family members of BJP MLC D.S. Arun, who is son of former chairman of legislative council D.H. Shankarmurthy

This Mosque, believed to be built & used by Tipu Sultan, is located in Sulthanpet near Nandi Hills, Karnataka. This heritage mosque is currently in a bad shape and neglect.

Locatated at the foot of Nandi Hills, This mosque is surrounded by picturesque landsacpe and is an ideal weekend exploration desitnation. Photographers and nature lovers would love to hang around the area.

The roads are non existent and one has to park their vehicles in Sulthanpet village and then do a small trek to this site.

Aimim- All India Majlis-E-Ittehadul Muslimeen is contesting the Kalaburgi City Corporation polls, and is busy campaigning for its candidates. While this may be the case, it appears that the party, with its headquarters in Darussalaam, Hyderabad, is looking at a much larger role, seeking to expand it footprint with its eyes on the Karnataka Vidhan Sabha elections.

At the moment, the party has fielded its candidates in 21 of the 55 wards. A team of senior party workers, corporators and cadre have been working on the ground. Party president Asaduddin Owaisi on Wednesday embarked on a padyatra seeking support for the party.

During the padayatra in Kalaburgi, popularly known as Gulbarga, on Wednesday Mr Owaisi reiterated the candidature of Ilyas Baghban from the North Kalaburgi Assembly segment. “After the success in the municipal elections, God willing, within a year and a half there will be the Assembly polls. It is from here, from your Assembly seat, that the Majlis had decided, and also informed you that we would field Ilyas Baghban from here,” he said, even as he condoled the death of former minister and then legislator from Kalaburgi North Qamarul Islam, who passed away in 2017.

High Court of Karnataka Kalaburgi Bench recently passed an order asking the State government to take a decision on starting a paediatric cardiology wing and appointing a paediatric cardiologist either in the Gulbarga Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS) or the newly constructed Sri Jayadeva Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences and Research in Kalaburagi.

A Division Bench of Justices Abhay S. Oka and N.S. Sanjay Gowda passed the order on August 16 through videoconferencing on a petition filed by a Kalaburagi-based activist and president of Know Your Rights Association Abdul Razak.

The petitioner stated that establishing a paediatric cardiology wing will help in reducing child mortality rate in the Kalyana Karnataka region.
