Under the directions of Sh. Prateek Gahlot, IPS (DCP Traffic, Gurugram) officers and staff of Gurugram Traffic Police remained deployed throughout the continuous rainfall in the city on 04 August 2026, keeping traffic movement smooth and uninterrupted.
Special watch was maintained at National Highway-48 (NH-48), Dwarka Expressway, Sohna Road, Golf Course Road, M.G. Road, IFFCO Chowk, Shankar Chowk and other key intersections and waterlogging-prone locations.
Why this deployment mattered:
• Officers remained present on the ground through the rainfall to regulate vehicle movement and manage traffic as required.
· Kanwariyas moving through the city were given safe and uninterrupted passage.
· The traffic control room, CCTV network and field staff monitored the city's traffic position continuously.
Wherever traffic pressure was likely to build, additional force was deployed immediately, so commuters did not face unnecessary jams.
Appeal to citizens:
During rainfall, please drive at a slow and safe speed, maintain adequate distance from the vehicle ahead, exercise extra caution at waterlogged stretches, and follow traffic rules while cooperating with the Traffic Police.

On 04 August 2026, during CM duty near Exit-7, a man suffered a sudden cardiac emergency and collapsed unconscious on the roadside.
Assistant Sub-Inspector Mahendra, Zonal Officer IFFCO Chowk, reached the spot the moment word came in and began CPR without losing a second.
Key points:
· CPR was administered on the spot, immediately, without waiting for support to arrive
· An ambulance was arranged at once
· The man was rushed to hospital and received medical treatment in time
· Those minutes made the difference between a life lost and a life saved

In a medical emergency on the road, the first few minutes decide the outcome. If you witness someone collapse, do not wait and do not crowd the person. Alert the nearest traffic personnel, keep the area clear, and help the responder reach the spot.

Gurugram Traffic Police conducted a Road Safety Awareness Programme under the Awareness on Wheels initiative, taking road safety education directly to citizens at three high-footfall points across the city.
Locations covered:
· Manesar Bus Stand: approx. 35–40 citizens
· Narsinghpur: approx. 25–30 citizens
· Ghata T-Point: approx. 20–25 citizens
In total, approximately 80–95 citizens were sensitised on safe road behaviour across the three locations.
Why this drive matters:
· Bus stands and junctions reach commuters at the exact point where road decisions are made
· Two-wheeler riders and pedestrians remain among the most vulnerable road users in the city
· Consistent, on-ground engagement builds habits that enforcement alone cannot
Appeal to citizens:
Wear your helmet on every ride, however short. Fasten your seat belt before you move. Respect signals, lane discipline and pedestrian crossings. Never drive under the influence, and never use your phone behind the wheel. Road safety begins with one person choosing to do it right, and it spreads from there.

Gurugram Traffic Police is running continuous special drives against drivers who violate traffic rules. Under these drives, action is being taken as per the provisions of the Motor Vehicle Act, 1988 against those who have not paid long-pending challans, and vehicle owners are also being informed about their pending challans so that they can clear them on time.
On 04 August 2026, ASI Vijay Singh, Zonal Officer Rajiv Chowk, was conducting a routine vehicle checking drive along with his team. During the check, a scooty was stopped and the rider was asked to produce the vehicle documents. The rider was unable to produce any document.
What the records revealed:
● 96 challans pending under various sections of the Motor Vehicle Act, 1988
● One challan issued by machine, the remaining through cameras
● Total pending fine amount: ₹10,00,000
● Majority of the challans for riding without a helmet, without insurance and without a valid PUC certificate
Acting as per rules, Gurugram Traffic Police impounded the scooty and moved it to the designated parking.
Appeal to citizens: Follow traffic rules at all times. Keep all necessary vehicle documents such as valid insurance, pollution certificate and other required papers updated, and ensure that pending challans are paid
on time. Following traffic rules is essential for your own safety and for the safety of every other road user.

Gurugram Traffic Police, in association with Ravi Sharma Hero MotoCorp, conducted a traffic rules awareness Pathshala at Hero Park, Crown Plaza on 04 August 2026, under the “Challan Nahi, Salaam Milega” campaign.
A total of 17 auto, taxi and two-wheeler drivers were made aware of traffic rules and road signs during the session.
Key points covered:
● Two-wheeler riders must always wear a helmet
● Never drive under the influence of any intoxicant
● Do not use a mobile phone while driving
● Avoid wrong-side driving and follow lane discipline
● Emergency CPR procedure to assist the injured at an accident site
● Government cashless treatment scheme of up to ₹1.50 lakh for those injured in road accidents
Taxi drivers were also encouraged to behave courteously and respectfully with passengers, so that travellers feel safer during their journey.
All participants took the “Sadak Suraksha Jeevan Raksha” pledge and were urged to share this information with their colleagues and family members, so that road accidents can be reduced.
This traffic park regularly hosts students from different schools as well as auto, e-rickshaw and taxi drivers for continuous awareness on traffic rules and road signs. Such awareness Pathshala drives by Gurugram Traffic Police will continue.

Gurugram Traffic Police conducted a special campaign against dangerous driving from 01.07.2026 to 31.07.2026.
During the campaign, teams monitored city roads and took action against drivers found operating vehicles carelessly and dangerously.
Campaign results:
● 401 challans issued between 01.07.2026 and 31.07.2026
● Total fine amount: ₹20,85,000
Violations monitored:
● Speeding
● Driving on the wrong side
● Sudden lane changes without warning
● Careless driving
These are among the leading causes of road crashes. Dangerous driving creates a serious risk not only for the driver, but for every other person on the road.
The objective of Gurugram Traffic Police is to keep the city's traffic safe, smooth and orderly. Special campaigns of this kind are run periodically against rule violations, and citizens are made aware through various channels so that they follow traffic rules and travel safely.
