AIIB Team Visits HORC Project Site

An Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) delegation, led by Ms. Anne Ong Lopez, Project Team Leader, visited the HRIDC office and the Haryana Orbital Rail Corridor (HORC) project site from Sept 2–4, 2026.

The visit covered:
✅ Progress review of HORC Part A
✅ Pre-Appraisal Mission for HORC Part B

The team expressed satisfaction with the pace of Civil & Electrical works, tunnel construction, Environmental & Social compliance, and financial management under Part A.

Discussions also focused on preparedness for loan negotiations for HORC Part B, with the proposal set to move forward in consultation with the Department of Economic Affairs (DEA).

🗓️ 17 July 2026 | A New Milestone in Railway Infrastructure 🚆

Today, Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi dedicated the Kurukshetra Elevated Rail Track to the nation as part of a series of key development projects in Haryana.

The project marks a significant step towards modern, efficient, and safer railway infrastructure by

1. Eliminating traffic bottlenecks at 5 railway level crossings

2. Enabling uninterrupted rail operations on the elevated corridor

3. Improving urban mobility in Kurukshetra

4. Featuring a 4.1 km railway viaduct and an elevated platform at Thanesar Station

A landmark initiative strengthening connectivity and enhancing everyday mobility.

🚆 A New Chapter in Kurukshetra's Rail Connectivity Begins

From 10th July, the newly constructed Kurukshetra Elevated Rail Line has become operational, marking a major milestone in the city's infrastructure journey. The first train has successfully arrived at the newly built Thanesar Elevated Railway Station, signaling the beginning of regular operations.

The 5.9-km elevated rail corridor is designed to eliminate five busy railway level crossings, significantly reducing traffic congestion and improving connectivity across Kurukshetra. The project also features the new elevated Thanesar station, enhancing passenger convenience and urban mobility.

A transformative step towards safer, faster, and smarter transportation for the city. 🚉✨

A proud milestone for Kurukshetra!

Ahead of its inauguration, Shri Dinesh Chand Deshwal, Commissioner of Railway Safety (Northern Circle), carried out the safety inspection of the Kurukshetra Elevated Railway Track with MD, HRIDC, Sh. Sukhvinder Singh (IRSEE), DRM (Delhi Division), Northern Railway, Shri Pushpesh Raman Tripathi, and other senior railway officers.

The viaduct, track, signalling, telecom and electrification were all reviewed to the highest safety standards. This is the final green signal before the corridor opens - set to ease city traffic and transform how Kurukshetra travels.

Work hard. Recharge harder.
Today HRIDC opened the doors to something special. Sh. Sukhvinder Singh, MD, HRIDC inaugurated our new recreation room, 'Recharge Junction', on the ground floor of the HRIDC office, Sector 32, Gurugram.
In a gesture that says everything about who we are, the ribbon was cut alongside HRIDC's longest-serving employees, the people who have grown with this organisation from the very beginning.
And then the games began. MD Sh. Sukhvinder Singh and Sh. Vishal Gupta, CPM/North, faced off over a game of Pool. Sh. B.B. Gupta, Dir/BD&F, and Sh. Narinder D. Cumber, PED/I&O, took to the Table Tennis board. A spirited team of women officials, led by our DGM/Civil, claimed the Carrom table. Soon, colleagues across teams joined in.
'Recharge Junction' is more than a room. It is a reminder that great work and great moments of pause belong together.
Here is to building railways, and building bonds.
