FFSC team conducted a placement drive for the 3rd batch of Centre of Excellence (COE) students on 20th December 2024 at NSTI, Vidyanagar, Hyderabad.

Over 15+ students trained at the COE participated in the placement drive, where an HR round and employer interviews were conducted by a panel of industry experts. This resulted in 100% placement as apprentice with stipends ranging from ₹15,000 to ₹25,000 per month.

Following this, the trained students received their training certificates from Mr. Atul Kumar Tiwari, Honorable Secretary of Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, India. He later toured the Centre of Excellence, during which the FFSC team provided updates on training, placement, and apprenticeship details.

FFSC team successfully conducted a training session for carpenters on, 22nd December 2024, at Rajamahendravaram, Andhra Pradesh, under the Meri Skill Meri Pehchaan program.

This training, supported by GREENPLY INDUSTRIES LIMITED, one of our esteemed partners, focused on skill orientation for experienced workers from the Furniture, Interior, and Allied Sector. Participants gained knowledge about industry-specific international measurement standards and other critical skills. Additionally, over 120 carpenters actively participated, enhancing their expertise through this initiative.

Furthermore, our trainers showcased innovative carpentry skills that can be easily implemented into their daily job, enhancing efficiency and productivity. The attendees were excited and eager to learn from the trainer.

We thank our Greenply Foundation for their support and cooperation in this initiative. We hope to continue this collaboration and empower more candidates with the skills and knowledge.

FFSC team successfully conducted a training session for carpenters today, 20th December 2024, at Kannur, Kerala, under the Meri Skill Meri Pehchaan program.

This training was supported by GREENPLY INDUSTRIES LIMITED, one of our valued partners. The training provided skill orientation to the existing skilled workers from the Furniture, Interior & Allied Sector. They also learned about industry-specific international measurement standards, among other things. Additionally, over 50 carpenters participated in group sessions focused on traditional joinery techniques.

Furthermore, our trainers showcased innovative carpentry skills that can be easily implemented into their daily job, enhancing efficiency and productivity. The attendees were excited and eager to learn from the trainer.

Shaping the Future of the Furniture, Interior, and Allied Sectors!

The 5th Townhall of the FFSC Regional Skill Chapter (FRSC), Delhi-NCR was successfully held on 10th December 2024 at PHD House, August Kranti Marg, New Delhi, bringing together key stakeholders to advance skilling initiatives for the industry.

The event commenced with a heartfelt welcome by FFSC Regional Skill Chapter (FRSC) Delhi-NCR Vice President Mr. Deepak Gupta, followed by Mr. Justine Rajan, Assistant Manager, Delhi-NCR Regional Skill Chapter setting the stage by highlighting key milestones and outlining an ambitious roadmap for the future of skill development.

FFSC has successfully completed 65 workshops on the 'Prevention of Hazardous Cleaning of Sewers and Septic Tanks' across India. Funded by the National Safai Karamcharis Finance & Development Corporation (NSKFDC) under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment Govt. of India, these workshops aimed to raise awareness about the provisions of the MS Acts and Rules and promote safe practices to prevent hazardous cleaning of sewers and septic tanks.

The recent workshops held in Mizoram, Delhi, and Punjab marked the successful completion of this nationwide initiative.

In collaboration with I.EVO - Contractual & Bespoke Furniture Manufacturer and Hafele India Private Limited, the Furniture & Fittings Skill Council (FFSC) has launched a 5-day Training of Trainers (ToT) program. Over 20 trainers, who will soon be training at 10+ skill academies across India, have embarked on this residential program aimed at equipping them to deliver impactful training sessions.

Day 1 started with an engaging introduction of the trainers, followed by insightful sessions covering key topics such as industry skill gaps and challenges, the skill ecosystem, global benchmarks through World Skills, and the structure of the ToT program. Trainers also learned about their key roles and responsibilities, career progression pathways, and the importance of maintaining health and safety standards during training. The day concluded with a tour of the IEVO factory, providing a glimpse into real-world industry practices.

This program, led by Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), is a significant step toward building a skilled workforce and strengthening the skill development ecosystem.
