NEZCC established it's Shilpgram at Guwahati in 2006 with the objective of providing a platform for men and women in the field of art and culture to congregate and demonstrate their skills. It was established in the year 1986 with its Headquarters at Dimapur, Nagaland. The constituent States of NEZCC are the 8 States of the Northeast; Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland
, Sikkim & Tripura. The main objectives of the Centre are to preserve, promote and disseminate the folk arts of the region and to promote cultural exchanges and interactions amongst themselves and with the other parts of the country. In the year 2006, as an extension of its activities, the NEZCC established its Shilpgram, the Crafts Village at Guwahati with the objective of providing a platform for men and women in the field of art and culture to congregate and demonstrate their skills in varied disciplines with an eye on the market. NEZCC established it's Shilpgram at Guwahati in 2006. The Shilpgram Complex at Panjabari, Guwahati has 45 craft stalls, 8 pavilions, 8 food stalls, a dormitory to accommodate 150 artisans and artistes, air-conditioned auditorium with a capacity of 400 persons, a 6 room VIP Guest House and an open air platform with enough space for 3000 visitors. NEZCC organizes programmes and activities at the Shilpgram throughout the year. The facilities are also rented out to other organizations for organizing programmes and events.
