The Assam Pollution Control Board, in a joint initiative with 'Amar Asom', successfully hosted the prize distribution ceremony for the state-wide essay competition organized on the occasion of World Environment Day.

​During the event, Hon'ble Chairman of APCB, Dr. Arup Kumar Mishra, addressed the gathering with a crucial message regarding the severe threat of post-flood pollution in our state. He strongly emphasized that combating climate change and environmental degradation cannot be achieved through superficial means. Instead, it requires a united, multi-disciplinary approach involving scientists, sociologists, journalists, and every responsible citizen.

​A heartfelt congratulations to Bhargav Bezbaruah (Cotton University) for securing the first prize, and to all the brilliant young minds who participated and showcased their deep concern for nature!

Hon’ble Chairman, Assam Pollution Control Board (APCB), was invited as the Chief Guest at the Arunachal Science League, a first-of-its-kind initiative organized by the Department of Youth Affairs, Government of Arunachal Pradesh, in collaboration with the Arunachal Pradesh State Council for Science & Technology. Addressing the gathering, he emphasized the vital role of science, innovation, and environmental sustainability in building a Viksit and Atmanirbhar Bharat. He also visited the project exhibition, interacted with the young innovators, and appreciated their creativity and scientific temperament. The event, comprising Junior and Senior categories, provided an excellent platform for students to showcase innovative ideas and technological solutions. The Chairman also highlighted that APCB is actively embracing new technologies and a forward-looking approach through digital governance, online consent management systems, laboratory modernization, AI-driven initiatives, and technology-enabled environmental monitoring, demonstrating the Board’s commitment to innovation, transparency, and sustainable development.

During the interaction, he encouraged the students to become responsible environmental leaders and emphasized the importance of climate justice, sustainable development, and community participation in addressing environmental challenges. The programme provided young participants with valuable exposure to climate change, environmental governance, and community-driven solutions.
