An educational exposure visit of the B.Sc.(Hons) Agricultural Science students from Assam down town University was successfully conducted at Assam Livestock and Poultry Corporation Ltd. (ALPCO), Khanapara on 21.05.2026 and 23.05.2026.
During the visit, the students had detailed discussions and practical exposure to various livestock production and processing activities. The students visited the hatchery unit, goat market and sheep and goat slaughter house of ALPCO, where they gained valuable knowledge regarding scientific management practices, hygienic handling, biosecurity measures, and modern operational procedures followed in the livestock and poultry sector.
The programme was conducted in the presence of faculty members including Dr. Chandalima Baruah, Dr Priti Bandana Konwar and Dr Munmi Borah accompanying faculties from Assam down town University.
From ALPCO, the students were guided by Dr. P. N. Konwar, Dr. Dibakar Baruah, and Dr. Tanmoy Medhi, who shared their practical experiences and technical expertise with the students.
Such exposure visits play a vital role in bridging theoretical knowledge with practical field learning and help students understand the real-time functioning of the animal husbandry and livestock industry. The interaction also encouraged students to develop greater interest and awareness regarding scientific livestock production and management practices.
