A community-level awareness program on the prevention of child marriage was organised by the Central Library,Arya Vidyapeeth College (Autonomous) in Collaboration with the Women cell,Arya Vidyapeeth College (Autonomous)at Rajabari L.P. School, Panikhaiti on 4th February,2026. The program started at 11:00 AM and was attended by a total of 35 female participants from the local community.
During the interaction session, four elderly women shared their personal experiences, stating that they were married at a very young age—some at 12 years, and one even at 9 years. All the participants were married women, which helped create an open and meaningful discussion.
All the members of the Women Cell explained the harmful effects of child marriage, its impact on health, education, and social development, and highlighted the legal provisions and the importance of community participation in preventing child marriage.
In this connection, all the teachers of Rajabari L.P. School extended valuable support and cooperation in organizing the program successfully at the community level. After the completion of the program, snacks were distributed among all participants. The program concluded successfully with active participation and improved awareness among the community members.
