🌿 Commemorating Gandhi Jayanti & Adi Sewa Parv | 3rd October 2025 🌿

On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti and Adi Sewa Parv, Bhaluthang Village under 15-Yangtey GPU, Gyalshing Block, convened a Gram Sabha on 2nd October 2025 and unanimously passed the Tribal Village Vision 2030 Declaration.

The programme witnessed active participation of Panchayats, officers from line departments at the block level, members of the public, volunteers, NGOs/CSOs, and trainers, reflecting strong community involvement and coordinated efforts. Alongside the Gram Sabha, activities such as transect walks, focused group discussions (FGDs) were also conducted .

Following the Adi Karmayogi Abhiyan orientation at Block level, the initiative was carried forward and implemented at Bhaluthang under Village level, thereby ensuring grassroots participation and ownership.

The Sabha marked a significant step towards tribal empowerment by establishing an Adi Sewa Kendra for the village, along with the appointment of Adi Sathi’s, Adi Sahayogi’s, and Adi Karmayogi’s.

The initiative, celebrated in unison with the spirit of Gandhi Jayanti, aimed at uplifting the tribal community and laying down clear prospects and action plans in line with the Adi Karmayogi Abhiyan—India's largest grassroots tribal leadership movement.

🇮🇳 **Har ghar Tiranga Campaign & Cleanliness Drive | 7th August 2025** 🇮🇳

As part of the **Independence Day 2025** celebrations and in alignment with the **Har Ghar Tiranga** campaign, a **Flag Hoisting followed by a Cleanliness Drive** was conducted at the premises of **Additional District Collector (ADC) Development, Gyalshing and Block Administrative Centre (BAC) Gyalshing.

The event was a joint initiative of ADC (Dev), Gyalshing and BAC Gyalshing, held under the guidance of BDO Gyalshing. Staff from both offices actively took part in the programme, reflecting unity, patriotism, and a shared commitment to cleanliness and national pride.

📌 Meeting on Panchayat Advancement Index (PAI) Held at BAC Gyalshing

A coordination meeting on the Panchayat Advancement Index (PAI) was successfully held at the Office of the Block Development Officer Gyalshing in coordination with the Line departments, to discuss the implementation of the PAI initiative in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The meeting was chaired by the Block Development Officer, Gyalshing, and saw the active presence of Panchayat Presidents and Members of Gyalshing Block, who play a crucial role in grassroots governance and local coordination. Also in attendance were Nodal Officers (Line Departments), Assistant Directors (ADs), Panchayat Development Assistants (PDAs) and officials from various line departments.

Key discussions focused on:

Roles and responsibilities of departments and Nodal Officers.

Coordination with GPU functionaries for timely data collection.

Validation and official sealing of the Data Collection Format (DCF).

Shri Shiva Pds Sharma, Field Facilitator, SIRD&PR, provided a brief overview of the PAI framework and addressed key operational queries related to data flow and inter-departmental coordination.

The BDO emphasized the importance of joint efforts between elected representatives and departmental officials to ensure effective implementation of the PAI for improved governance at the grassroots level.

The meeting concluded with an interactive session and a shared commitment to support the initiative collectively.

Meeting on Panchayat Advancement Index Held at BAC Gyalshing

A review and planning meeting to discuss the Panchayat Advancement Index (PAI) was convened
today at the Office of the Block Administrative Centre (BAC), Gyalshing under the chairmanship of
the Block Development Officer (BDO), Gyalshing.

The meeting was attended by the Assistant Director (PRI), Panchayat Presidents, Panchayat
Members, along with Rural Development Assistants (RDAs) and Panchayat Development Assistants
(PDAs) from all Gram Panchayat Units (GPUs) under the Gyalshing Block.

The deliberation centred on the
assessment framework of the Panchayat Advancement Index,
which is designed to evaluate the functioning and progress of Gram Panchayats based on key
developmental and governance indicators.
Participants actively contributed insights on strengthening grassroots planning, data-driven
decision-making, and adopting best practices to improve local governance outcomes. The meeting
highlighted the need for collaboration and consistent monitoring to drive impactful changes at the
GPU level.
The session concluded with a shared commitment to strive toward excellence in panchayat
governance and development through collective effort and transparent administration.

Awareness and Benefit Saturation Camp Held under Dharti AABA Janbhagidari Abhiyan at Yangtey GPU

As part of the ongoing Dharti AABA Janbhagidari Abhiyan, an Awareness and Benefit Saturation Camp was successfully organised at Yangtey Gram Panchayat Unit (GPU) under Gyalshing Block. The event was coordinated by the Office of the Block Development Officer, Gyalshing, with the primary objective of ensuring the saturation and effective delivery of welfare schemes to the tribal population at the grassroots level.

The programme was graced by the presence of the Zilla Panchayat, Panchayat President, Panchayat Members, Block Development Officer (BDO) Gyalshing, Assistant Director (PRI), Assistant Director (DESME), Assistant Director (BAC), along with representatives from various line departments and the staff of the GPU.
🗣️ In his address, Mr. K.B. Limboo, Panchayat President of Yangtey GPU, encouraged all beneficiaries and residents to actively participate and avail themselves of the services provided through this initiative.
Mr. P.K. Gurung, Assistant Director (PRI), delivered an informative briefing outlining the mission and objectives of the Dharti AABA Janbhagidari Abhiyan, emphasising its relevance in promoting inclusive rural development and participatory governance.
In his keynote remarks, Mr. Garap Dorjee Bhutia, BDO Gyalshing, stressed the importance of collective responsibility in ensuring the benefits of development reach every household, particularly among tribal communities.
