Bridging Entrepreneurs with Banks: A 3-Day Bootcamp on Government Subsidised Loan Schemes commenced today, 3rd September 2026, at the DC Office, Hojai, Sankarnagar. The programme is being organised on 3rd, 5th and 7th September 2026 in collaboration with the District Industries & Commerce Centre (DI&CC), Hojai.

The Bootcamp is aimed at creating awareness among eligible citizens and aspiring entrepreneurs about various government-supported credit schemes such as PMEGP, PMFME, MUDRA, and other similar schemes. A key objective of the programme is to provide beneficiaries with a platform where they can interact directly with bankers, understand the loan process, clarify their queries and raise grievances relating to the processing and sanctioning of subsidised bank loans.

The programme was conducted by Sri Tapan Saha, Superintendent of Industries & Commerce, DI&CC, Hojai, and Sri Jiten Hazarika, Assistant Manager, DI&CC, Hojai, along with other staff members of DI&CC, Hojai.

Representatives from various banks operating in Hojai district, including SBI, PNB, Canara Bank, UCO Bank, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, Assam Gramin Vikash Bank (AGVB), and Bank of Maharashtra, participated in the programme and interacted directly with the beneficiaries.

The response on the very first day was highly encouraging, with around 200 citizens attending the programme. The participants actively interacted with the banking representatives and discussed their grievances, loan applications, eligibility, documentation, processing and issues relating to the sanctioning of subsidised bank loans.

Such an initiative provides an important platform for bringing beneficiaries, entrepreneurs, government departments and financial institutions together. Direct interaction with bankers can help prospective entrepreneurs better understand the available schemes and take informed steps towards establishing or expanding their enterprises.

It is hoped that this Bootcamp will contribute towards promoting entrepreneurship, encouraging self-employment, improving access to institutional finance, generating employment opportunities and fostering industrialisation in Hojai district.

The encouraging participation on the inaugural day reflects the growing interest among the people in entrepreneurship and government-supported financial assistance. With continued efforts and proper guidance, such initiatives can play a significant role in strengthening the local economy and building a vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystem in Hojai.
