📢 BIG ANNOUNCEMENT FROM JONAKI WELFARE TRUST! 📢
After two long years of running from pillar to post, facing land disputes, negotiations, and setbacks across multiple parts of West Bengal – we finally did it! 🏡
We are delighted to share that Jonaki Welfare Trust has officially acquired a piece of land for setting up a permanent center for Prostuti 2.0 – our flagship initiative that imparts free, advanced education to underprivileged children.

📍 Location: Gangajalghati, Bankura, under Gangaajalghati Gram Panchayat
🧱 Plot No: 949, L.R. Khaitan No. 1415, J.L. No. 109
📐 Area: 3 Decimals (1308 sq. ft.)

🔹 Why Gangajalghati?
Located just 25 minutes (~14.8 km) from the famous Susunia Hills 🌄, this peaceful locality offers natural greenery and connectivity—perfect for a permanent, distraction-free learning center.
The interior villages around the area are home to families with bare minimum facilities, where even the concept of advanced education is still a distant dream.
The land lies adjacent to Gangajalghati-Lachmanpur Road, ensuring ease of access and future outreach potential.
🗺️ What you’re seeing:
The blue indicator (from your GPS screenshots) shows the location of the rectangular plot (41.32 ft × 31.39 ft, about 1308 sq ft).
It's nestled just west of Gangajalghati–Lachhmanpur Road, surrounded largely by rural, underdeveloped land—precisely where advanced education is a dream come true.
The plot is accessible via a 10-ft-wide dirt (cacha) road on both the west and south sides, matching your layout sketch.
📍 Location context:
The site lies approximately 25 minutes (≈15 km) from the well-known Susunia Hills .
It's within the Gangajalghati CD Block, a characteristic rural, laterite-covered landscape of the Bankura Uplands .
Road connectivity is strong—situated just off NH 14/old NH 60, which cuts through Gangajalghati .
🔹 The Journey So Far
While our heart still beats for Birbhardrapur, despite our strongest efforts, securing land there became impossible. It was a painful decision to move, but a necessary one for the future of our children and the sustainability of our mission. Birbhardrapur is not forgotten – it remains close to our heart, and we are determined to set up a center there someday soon.
🔹 What Comes Next?
We’re now gearing up to start construction on this land – building a concrete learning shed for Prostuti 2.0. This center will be a ray of hope for local children who dream of learning beyond textbooks.
💬 We need YOU!
To make this dream a reality, we call upon all well-wishers, donors, and volunteers. Your support, contributions, and encouragement will help build this foundation for many futures. Let’s build something beautiful together. 🏫❤️
