City Police Joint Market Inspection Drive 🛒🚓
In compliance with administrative directions, joint market inspection drives were conducted across various key markets of different Zones under the jurisdiction of Howrah Police Commissionerate to monitor and regulate the prevailing prices of essential commodities.
The inspection was carried out by Sri Ganesh Biswas, IPS, DCP (South), HPC; Sri Bappaditya Ghosh, ADCP (South); Shri Tushar Kanti Pathak, WBPS, ACP (South I), HPC; Shri Manish Kr. Yadav, WBPS, ACP (North-II), Smt Sambiti Chakraborty, WBPS, ACP (North-I) along with other administrative officials.
To curb illegal hoarding, prevent unfair price escalation, ensure standard weights and measures, and safeguard consumer interest so essential goods remain accessible to all citizens at fair prices.

📢 Ensuring Fair Prices & Smooth Supply at Dhulagori Sabzi Mandi!

To protect consumers and curb unfair trade practices, a high-level joint inspection team visited Dhulagori Sabzi Mandi under Sankrail PS, Howrah City Police.

The inspection was carried out by Partho Pratim Sandhukha, SDO Howrah (In-Charge); Shri Tushar Kanti Pathak, WBPS, ACP (South I), HPC; along with Dr. Kamarul Monir, BDO, Sankrail; the Officer-in-Charge of Dhulagori OP; and other administrative officials.

Key actions taken during the drive:

Price Auditing: Comparative prices of essential commodities (potatoes, onions, green vegetables, and oil) were thoroughly checked.

Standardization: Instructions were issued to vendors to display clear price boards.

Anti-Hoarding Checks: Measures were reinforced to prevent artificial price hikes and stockpiling.

The administration remains committed to ensuring that everyday essential goods are available to everyone at fair and transparent prices.

An awareness campaign under "Operation Anand" was successfully conducted at Liluah Railway Station and its adjoining areas UNDER Howrah City Police.

The initiative was held in the distinguished presence of Smt. Savita Gotyal, IPS (SS, CID, WB), alongside Smt. Sambiti Chakraborty, WBPS, ACP (North I, HPC), OC (Missing Persons Bureau, CID, WB), and OC (Missing Persons Bureau, HPC).

🚨 DRUG RACKET BUSTED | 9.490 KG G***A SEIZED 🚨

Acting on credible source information, a dedicated team of officers and force from the Detective Department, Howrah Police Commissionerate, conducted a raid at Bablatala More under Jagacha Police Station.

During the operation, the team intercepted Anil Khandelwal (61), a resident of Bhadrak, Odisha, and recovered approximately 9.490 kg of contraband G***a from his exclusive possession.

A case under the NDPS Act has been registered at Jagacha Police Station, Howrah Police Commissionerate. Further investigation is underway to trace the wider network and unearth other linkages involved in the illegal narcotics trade.

🚶‍♂️ Safer & Smoother Pedestrian Movement at Howrah Station

A joint inspection was conducted in the presence of Hon’ble Minister Shri Umesh Rai, Commissioner, Howrah Municipal Corporation, Smt. Tejasvi Rana, IAS; DCP (North), Howrah Police Commissionerate, Shri Amlan Kusum Ghosh, IPS; and senior police officials to assess and improve pedestrian movement between Howrah Railway Station and the Bus Stand.

The inspection focused on:
