On 25 February 2026, during the early morning hours, a brutal shooting incident occurred at Pilkhana 2nd Lane, within the jurisdiction of Golabari Police Station, in which Safique Khan was fatally shot by armed assailants. The entire incident was captured on nearby CCTV cameras, making the case particularly shocking and widely discussed.
Immediately after the incident, a special team of the Detective Department and Golabari PS, Howrah City Police, under the guidance of the Commissioner of Police, Howrah, launched an intensive investigation.
Despite the accused persons disconnecting themselves from mobile phones and digital devices in an attempt to evade detection, the police team relied heavily on extensive CCTV analysis, field intelligence, and continuous surveillance to track their movements.

However, the relentless efforts of the police team led to the successful identification and tracking of their movement routes.
Acting on precise intelligence, the Detective Department team of Howrah City Police successfully apprehended the two prime accused — Harun Khan and Rafakat Hussain @ Rohit — from the Jama Masjid area of Delhi today.
