At Howrah Division, Eastern Railway, our foremost responsibility is to ensure that every genuine passenger enjoys a safe, clean, comfortable, and fair travel experience. With this objective, a Special Magistrate Ticket Checking Drive was conducted at Howrah Station on 5 June 2026 under the direction of Sr. DCM/Howrah Shri Rahul Ranjan and led by the Railway Magistrate.

The drive detected 505 cases of travel and related irregularities, including:

βœ”οΈ 421 cases of ticketless travel
βœ”οΈ 55 cases of unbooked luggage irregularities
βœ”οΈ 29 cases of littering

Ticket checking drives are not merely enforcement measuresβ€”they are undertaken to protect the interests of honest passengers who travel with valid tickets. By discouraging unauthorized travel and promoting cleanliness, such initiatives help reduce overcrowding, safeguard public resources, and create a more pleasant travel environment for everyone.

During the drive, passengers were also encouraged to make use of the RailOne App for seamless digital ticket booking and access to a range of railway services, making travel more convenient and hassle-free.
