Sayodhya - Home for Women in Need SAYODHYA is a not-for-profit organisation started in 2010 by a group of development professionals working with children.

SAYODHYA Home offers services that include 24-hour availability of emergency shelter and counseling.We support each survivor of violence to determine their future free from violence The need was felt to start this home after witnessing increased incidences of violence against women and their children leading to destitution, desertion and homelessness. Started with a short stay home which is a tran

sit refuge center for women and children escaping a range of abusive situations and later our efforts focused on providing an environment that will help the victims recover from the traumatic effects of victimization and develop an understanding and confidence to lead independent dignified life devoid of violence.

Recruiters invited for the Naari Job Mela – Hyderabad

As part of Women’s Week celebrations, Sayodhya - Home for Women in Need is organizing the Naari Job Mela in Amberpet, Hyderabad on 12 March 2026.

The event aims to connect 150–200 women from low-income communities with employers offering entry-level livelihood opportunities.

We are inviting HR professionals, manpower agencies, and recruiters who are looking to hire for roles such as:
• Housekeeping staff
• Security personnel
• Patient attendants / caregivers
• Childcare / babysitting support
• Retail helpers
• Kitchen assistants
• Factory helpers
• Packaging and warehouse work
• Driving and delivery support
• Office and facility support roles

This job mela is an effort to create direct access to employment opportunities for women who are often outside formal recruitment networks.

Participating recruiters will be provided a dedicated space with table and chairs to conduct on-spot interactions and initial screening.

“ఆరు నెలల తర్వాత రండి.”
ఇది చాలా మంది మొదటి సారి వ్యాపారం ప్రారంభించాలనుకునే మహిళలు — ముఖ్యంగా వికలాంగ మహిళలు — బ్యాంకులకు వెళ్తే వినే మాట.

కానీ డబ్బు లేకుండా ఆరు నెలలు వ్యాపారం ఎలా మొదలు పెడతారు?

“Come back after six months.”

That’s what many first-generation women entrepreneurs — especially women with disabilities — hear when they approach banks for their first loan.

Last week, 32 women — including women with disabilities and women from urban slum communities — completed our entrepreneurship training at Sayodhya - Home for Women in Need.
They built business plans.
They calculated costs.
They identified customers.
Several are ready to begin.

Yet access to first capital often depends on proof of revenue.

Without capital, there is no first month.

Without the first month, there is no business history.

To bridge this gap, Sayodhya is providing small seed grants to help women purchase a sewing machine, a pushcart, initial grocery stock, or basic tailoring equipment — and begin operations.

If we train first-generation entrepreneurs, shouldn’t we also design financial systems that let them start?

Water—When we at Sayodhya - Home for Women in Need first started working in Salveedu, the Chenchu community members shared their most important problems—Water for irrigation and water for drinking—After over 1 year of hard work and advocacy, we can only express what we feel by looking at the water coming out of one of the 12 borewells being dug right now. Farmers from our Joint Liability Groups (JLBs) are going to use these borewells collectively for greener pastures literally. Thank you to the government groundwater department, local officials, and the district collector in particular for facilitating these borewells and fulfilling the dreams of these people.

Sayodhya - Home for Women in Need's tuition children in the Tulsiramnagar Government Primary School had a beautiful start to the holiday season thanks to the team from who visited on 23rd December 2025. They played games, distributed gifts to all the children, enfaged with them, facilitated an art and craft workshop with the help of our dear volunteer and of course cut cake and created some holiday cheer with them. The children absolutely loved the whole experience—and this will surely be a magical memory that they will cherish for a long time to come.

Saturday, 20th December 2025, was a day of excitement and cycling in the cool winter sun for the girl students of Government High School, Azampura No.1, Amberpet.
With the support of Ms. Kavita Prasad, Sayodhya - Home for Women in Need facilitated 20 bicycles for Class 9 and Class 10 girl students of the school.

What made the day even more special was the presence of Telangana Vidya Commission Chairman, Shri Akunuri Murali (Retd. IAS) who personally distributed the bicycles and motivated the students by sharing his own journey of studying in a government school and excelling academically. He emphasized the importance of determination, critical thinking, and discipline in achieving success in life.

Our initiative of providing bicycles aims to increase the attendance of girl children in government schools. This is part of our slum education project in Amberpet, supported by Gland Pharma Limited. It may be a drop in the ocean—but a fruitful one, we hope.

In a country like India, where business runs in our veins, why should women stay behind?

Sayodhya - Home for Women in Need facilitated an entrepreneurship training program last Saturday for 28 women from the slums of Amberpet.

The session was conducted by Venkat and Aravind from Team Akshara Livelihoods. It was so incredible to see every participant taking part in all the role plays and activities with true gusto and enthusiasm.

This training is part of Sayodhya’s mandate to facilitate entrepreneurship among women from underserved communities and to support them with seed funding — helping them take their dreams a little further!

Who needs wings when they can have wheels to reach school and beyond?

Sayodhya - Home for Women in Need, with the help of many generous donors, facilitated the distribution of bicycles to girl students from Amberpet Government Schools. The students get education support from our slum education program, proudly supported by Gland Pharma Limited.

Each cycle is more than just a mode of transport — it’s a ride toward education, safety, and empowerment!

Sayodhya - Home for Women in Need conducted a two-day Honey Bee Training Program with members of the Nayak Pod tribe in Chandrayapalem Village helping them learn sustainable beekeeping practices and distribute 96 bee boxes to support new forest-friendly livelihoods.

A heartfelt thank-you to DFO Khammam and Telangana Bee Hub Society for their guidance, encouragement, and continued partnership in promoting apiculture and biodiversity.

Big applause to the Vana Samrakshana Samithi of Chandrayapalem village, Sathupalli, and a special salute to the Nayak Pod tribe — true guardians of nature — for not only preserving our forests but now taking the inspiring step of raising bees and saving the planet, one hive at a time. 🐝💛

OUR STORY

SAYODHYA is a non-profit organization based in Hyderabad, started by a group of women to primarily cater to women in need of shelter and support. This shelter home is a transit refuge center for women and children, who are escaping range of abusive situations-physical, sexual and emotional, who have no social support systems to rely on in the time of crisis.

Sayodhya Home offers services that include 24-hour availability of emergency shelter; counseling and support for victims’ with a strong conviction that that each survivor of domestic violence has the right to a safe, secure home and the capability to self-determine their violence free future.

Since its establishment in 2010 to till date, Sayodhya has provided emergency shelter to more than 3000 women and young girls.
