He has been the recipient of Chief Minister's Gold Medal as Best Family Planning Surgeon of Andhra Pradesh State 3 times.As a Lions Governor he started the construction of Lions cancer hospital at Visakhapatnam which has been serving alot to the poor cancer patients of Srikakulam,Vizianagaram and Visakapatnam districts Orissa, M.p., Chattisgarh. His main motto was "Live not to earn but to serve as propounded by Lord Satya Sai Baba.

79 साल की उम्र में भी वह क्लास में जाती हैं, नोट्स बनाती हैं और परीक्षा देती हैं!

जब ज़्यादातर लोग बुढ़ापे को आराम करने का समय मानते हैं, तब उषा राय ने चुनी रफ़्तार। उन्होंने चौथी स्टेज के कैंसर को दो बार हराया, लेकिन शांत जीवन जीने के बजाय उन्होंने एक नया सपना देखा — ऊँची पढ़ाई का।

उनके जीवन का मोड़ था अप्रैल 2023। “वह मेरी दूसरी ज़िंदगी थी,” वह याद करती हैं। “45 साल बाद मैंने एमबीए करने का फ़ैसला किया।” तकनीक की कोई पृष्ठभूमि न होते हुए भी, उन्होंने हिम्मत के साथ आधुनिक शिक्षा की दुनिया में कदम रखा — MBA Healthcare Management में दाख़िला लिया।

यह आसान नहीं था। उन्हें लैपटॉप चलाना भी नहीं आता था। लेकिन उन्होंने एक लैपटॉप खरीदा, रोज़ अभ्यास किया, और शुरुआत से सीखा। उनकी लगन अडिग थी — क्लास मिस करना उनके लिए विकल्प ही नहीं था।

पहले उषा एक स्कूल शिक्षिका रह चुकी हैं। उन्होंने Zoology (1966) और Education (1978) में डिग्रियाँ हासिल कीं। ज़िंदगी ने उन्हें दो बार कैंसर से चुनौती दी, लेकिन हर बार वह और मज़बूत होकर लौटीं — अपने जीवन को प्रेरणा बना लिया।

उनकी यात्रा यह साबित करती है कि शिक्षा कभी बूढ़ी नहीं होती।
वह कहती हैं: “अगर मैं 80 की उम्र में पढ़ सकती हूँ, तो तुम्हारे लिए कोई सपना असंभव नहीं है।”

उनकी कहानी उम्र की नहीं, जज़्बे की है — यह याद दिलाती है कि सीखने, हिम्मत करने और आगे बढ़ने की कोई सीमा नहीं होती।
