A review meeting of consumers affairs, food and public distribution (CAF & PD) department along with Legal metrology (weights and measures) department, chaired by honorable chief minister was held at the secretariat cabinet hall, Babupara with senior officials of the department.
The Department plays a vital role in ensuring food security through the effective implementation of the Targeted Public Distribution System (TPDS) and the National Food Security Act (NFSA), while safeguarding consumer rights and ensuring the efficient supply of essential commodities, petroleum products and LPG .The department also play a vital role to ensure that consumer receive the correct weights ,measures and quantity when buying goods and services.
