Expert Talk on “Recent Trends in Industry” by Dr. Madan Mohan Tripathi

As part of the MoU signing ceremony held on 05.09.2026 at NIELIT Imphal, an insightful Expert Talk on “Recent Trends in Industry” was delivered by *Dr. Madan Mohan Tripathi, Vice Chancellor, NIELIT Deemed to be University (NDU) and Director General, NIELIT.*

Dr. Tripathi spoke on recent technological developments and emphasized the importance of strong collaboration among academia, industry, government and research organisations.

He also highlighted the growing role of emerging technologies, technical education and skill development in preparing students and professionals for future technological requirements.

05.09.2026: Imphal Signs and Exchanges MoU with BRAIN Foundation

NIELIT Imphal has signed and exchanged a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Dr. Neha Sharma, Founder President, Bharat Research in AI and NextGen Foundation (BRAIN) and Consultant at TCS, Pune during a formal ceremony held at NIELIT Imphal.

The MoU aims to foster collaboration in the field of Artificial Intelligence, research, innovation, and skill development, opening new opportunities for students and faculty members of NIELIT Imphal.

This partnership will strengthen industry-academia linkage and promote next-generation technology initiatives in the region.

05.09.2026: NIELIT, Imphal organised a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) Signing and Exchange Ceremony with 14 Institutes under category of Skilling in AI, Drone, 3D printing, R&D in health, Finance, Semiconductor design, medias and industry partners at the Seminar Hall, NIELIT Imphal, Akampat today the 5th September 2026.
The programme focused on strengthening cooperation in Research and Development,
emerging technologies, skill development, capacity building, academic collaboration and the
NDU Platform.
The programme was graced by Dr. Madan Mohan Tripathi, Director General, NIELIT & Vice
Chancellor, NIELIT (Deemed to be University), Prof. W. Chandbabu Singh, Vice-Chancellor,
Manipur Technical University (MTU), Dr. Yumnam Jayanta Singh, Executive Director,
NIELIT Imphal, Mr. Gurumayum Robert Sharma, IT Director, Government of Manipur, Dr.
R.K. Tombisana, Deputy Director, Department of Planning, Government of Manipur, Dr. Neha
Sharma, Founder President, Bharat Research in AI and NextGen Foundation (BRAIN) and
Consultant at TCS, Pune and Shri Robert Moirangthem, Senior Deputy Accountant General.
The programme commenced with the welcoming and felicitation of the dignitaries, followed
by the Welcome Address by Dr. Yumnam Jayanta Singh, Executive Director, NIELIT Imphal.

A significant part of the programme was the signing and exchange of an R&D MoU between
NIELIT and Manipur Technical University (MTU), represented by Prof. W. Chandbabu Singh, Vice-Chancellor, MTU. The collaboration is expected to strengthen joint research, academic cooperation, emerging technology initiatives and capacity-building activities for students, researchers and faculty members. MTU is the first State Technical University of Manipur and has been contributing to technical education, research and
innovation in the State.
