The 18th Battalion, Sikh Light Infantry (SIKH LI), Nyukmadung is conducting a one‑week “B” Vehicle Cadre On‑the‑Job Training (OJT) in Motor Mechanic Vehicle (MMV) trade wef 22nd June at 304 Field Workshop, Senge Dzong, Dirang, West Kameng, Arunachal Pradesh for the final‑year trainees of Govt. ITI Dirang.
ITI trainees are gaining hands‑on industry‑linked exposure in 🚗 basics of automobiles & engines, ⛽ fuel, cooling & lubrication systems, ⚙️ transmission, clutch & gear box, 🛠️ chassis, steering, suspension & brakes, 🔋 electrical systems (starter, alternator, battery), 🔍 diagnostics, fault‑finding & remedies, 🚙 exposure to vehicles like Gypsy, Scorpio, Bolero, Jimmy & more - bridging classroom learning with real‑world practice.

On the fifth and final day of the Finishing Course Programme, an Awareness Session on Higher Education Opportunities was organized by expert resources from Polytechnic and Higher Education Institutions, engaging trainees from 10 ITIs across Arunachal Pradesh.

The discussions highlighted diploma and degree pathways in engineering and related fields, advanced courses in trades, specialized certification programmes, procedures for lateral entry into engineering courses, and scholarship & financial aid options for pursuing higher education.

This session was an important learning outcome of the programme, enabling ITI trainees to envision clear pathways for academic progression and equipping them with the knowledge to pursue higher studies with confidence, ambition, and informed choices, while reinforcing the Department’s mission to empower youth and advancing its vision of preparing trainees for both advanced education and future career opportunities.

On the fourth day of the five‑day Finishing Course Programme, sessions on Awareness of Labour & Employee Benefits were organized by expert officers from the Labour & Employment Department, engaging participants from 10 ITIs across Arunachal Pradesh.
The discussions emphasized the importance of knowing employee rights, understanding social security schemes, and gaining clarity on wage and compensation, workplace entitlements, and the grievance redressal mechanism available to workers.
This awareness session was a key step in the Department of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship’s mission to equip ITI trainees with essential knowledge of labour laws and workplace protections, ensuring that as they transition into careers or entrepreneurial ventures, they carry not only technical expertise but also the confidence to build fair, secure, and sustainable careers.

On the third day of the five‑day Finishing Course Programme, sessions on Digital Literacy & Computer Skills and Resume Writing & Interview Preparation were conducted by experts from NIELIT and ITI instructors, engaging participants from 10 ITIs across Arunachal Pradesh. The digital literacy module introduced trainees to essential computer operations, MS Office applications, internet usage, email communication, and safe online practices, while the employability session guided them on crafting professional resumes, highlighting skills effectively, and preparing for interviews through mock exercises and communication drills.
This awareness session formed part of a concerted initiative of the Department of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh, to empower ITI trainees with practical digital proficiency and career‑oriented skills, ensuring they are future‑ready for diverse opportunities in higher education and industry.

Entrepreneurship Insights & Enterprise Creation
On Day‑2 of the five‑day Finishing Course Programme, sessions were organized for the students with NABARD that focused on Central and State Government Schemes for aspiring entrepreneurs. Participants from 10 ITIs were highlighted opportunities under initiatives such as National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS), State Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (SAPS), Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Swavalamban Yojana (DDUSY), and Prime Minister’s Internship Scheme (MIS).
The awareness session formed part of a broader effort by the Department and NABARD to strengthen linkages between technical training and entrepreneurship, thereby promoting self‑employment, job creation, and sustainable local enterprises across Arunachal Pradesh.
