🍽️✨ Flavours of Arunachal Take Centre Stage in Mumbai!

Arunachal Pradesh proudly showcased its rich culinary heritage at the prestigious Times Food & Nightlife Awards, Mumbai 2026, held at The Westin, Mumbai Powai Lake, organised by The Times of India, one of India’s leading food and hospitality platforms bringing together top chefs, restaurateurs, and industry leaders.

The stall was led by Chef Pinkey Veo, with support from Yami Veo, Seema Dodum Gyamar, and Techi Seema, coordinated by Taste Palate by Ms.Jugnu Gupta, Food Critic of the Times Food & Nightlife Awards & as a joint initiative of Department of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, in coordination with the Department of Tourism, Government of Arunachal Pradesh.

The state featured a dedicated stall presenting authentic vegetarian delicacies such as Amin, Chambai, Tasse, Black Rice, Churpi, refreshing Sumac Cold Brew, and traditional condiments prepared from indigenous herbs🌿🥤🍲🍛🍚. Among 34 award winning restaurants from Mumbai, the Arunachal Pradesh stall drew significant attention from guests, industry experts, and media representatives alike, offering an authentic taste of the region.

The initiative also fostered strong networking and future collaborations in the culinary and tourism sectors, reinforcing Arunachal Pradesh as an emerging cultural and gastronomic destination.

The Department of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, in collaboration with the Tourism Department, Government of Arunachal Pradesh, organized a 5 day Skill Development Training on Front Office Operations from 23rd to 27th March, 2026 at the State Food Craft Institute, Itanagar.

The training emphasized experiential learning across Front Office fundamentals, guest interaction, check in & check out procedures, communication & complaint handling, cashiering & billing essentials, and professional grooming, preparing participants to confidently manage frontline responsibilities in the hospitality and tourism sector.

This initiative reflects a continued commitment towards building skilled manpower, strengthening frontline professionals, and ensuring quality service delivery across the growing hospitality and tourism ecosystem.

Empowering Youth with Skills, Sparking Entrepreneurship

Completion Certificates were proudly awarded to 50 youth, with 20 empowered through Bakery skills 🍪🧁🎂and 30 trained in Homestay Management 🏡 as the Department of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, in collaboration with the Department of Tourism, GoAP, successfully concluded a 5-day intensive skill development training programme under the Chief Minister’s Yuva Kaushal Yojana (CMYKY).

The programme blended hands on baking, creative cake crafting, hygiene & precision with real world homestay operations, including guest handling, grievance management & maintaining top notch cleanliness.

Addressing the trainees, Shri Gyati Kacho, Deputy Director, Department of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, urged them to transform their learnt skills into startups and sustainable livelihoods, encouraging them to become successful entrepreneurs.

This initiative strengthens local employment, boosts tourism, and nurtures entrepreneurship, powering a self reliant Arunachal Pradesh.

🌍✨Opening global doors for Arunachalee youth!
The Department of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, GoAP has launched its first overseas oriented German and Japanese language training programme with international placement support, covering two batches of 52 candidates, 11 undergoing German language training in Hyderabad and 41 enrolled in Japanese language training in Itanagar, AP.

The initiative is a key step towards enabling gainful international employment for Arunachalee youth. The State Government is bearing 70% of the total training cost, including visa processing, training fees, examinations, medical expenses, and boarding and lodging, with the remaining 30% to be borne by the candidates.

The next batches for both the programmes are scheduled to commence in May 2026, and interested candidates may contact the Department for further details.

The initiative is aimed at enhancing employment opportunities in high demand international sectors such as healthcare, caregiving, hospitality, and allied skilled services.

Recognizing that practical skills are the foundation of sustainable livelihoods, the Department of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, in collaboration with the Department of Tourism, Government of Arunachal Pradesh, successfully conducted a 5‑Day Bakery Training Program (18–22 March 2026) at the State Food Craft Institute, Itanagar.
The participants received hands‑on and theoretical training in baking essentials such as 🍪 cookies, 🧁 muffins, 🎂 sponge & banana cakes, creative variations, and basic cake decoration, with strong emphasis on hygiene, precision, and industry‑ready techniques.

The Government Industrial Training Institute (ITI), Kanubari, Longding district, was inaugurated by Shri Gabriel D. Wangsu, Hon’ble Minister, Agriculture & Allied, Government of Arunachal Pradesh, marking an important milestone in enhancing skill development and vocational education in the region.

The programme was graced by Smt. Bullo Mamu, IRS, Secretary, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, GoAP; Shri Kunal Yadav, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Longding; Shri Yashwant Meena, IAS, Additional Deputy Commissioner ‑cum‑Principal, ITI Kanubari; Shri Sibo Passing, Director, SDE; Shri Gyati Kacho, Deputy Director, SDE; Smt. Kohai Tingkhatra, ZPM Kanubari; Shri Wanglam Wangsu, ZPM Lawunu; along with PRI leaders, ITI staff, and trainees.

Empowering Entrepreneurs | Transforming Businesses
The Department of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh, in collaboration with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and sponsored by the Volvo Group Trust, successfully organized a Business Transformation Workshop for Micro & Small Entrepreneurs, on 16 March 2026, at the State Banquet Hall, Itanagar.

The workshop was launched by Hon’ble Governor Lt Gen (Retd) Shri K.T. Parnaik, who highlighted promising entrepreneurship opportunities in sectors such as tourism & hospitality, waste management, coaching for competitive examinations, preservation of local languages, and community information & service kiosks, while commending the DSDE initiative and expressing confidence that the programme would significantly strengthen the State’s skill development and entrepreneurial ecosystem.

💡 The programme covered key areas of business management, including financial literacy, application of AI in business, marketing and sales strategies, and effective team building, equipping entrepreneurs with practical tools for growth and informed decision‑making.

Smt. Bullo Mamu, Secretary, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, highlighted various initiatives undertaken by the State Government to promote entrepreneurship and skill development, while the programme was also addressed by Shri G.V. Rao, Director (CSR), Volvo Group India & Managing Trustee, Volvo Group Trust; Smt. Shalini Thapa, Executive Director, CII; and Shri Shivek Gurubaran G, Director, CII Centre of Excellence on Employment & Livelihood.

✅ The workshop concluded with awarding of certificates and the onboarding of participants into the CII Arunachal Pradesh Entrepreneurs Development Forum, for one year enabling continued engagement, mentorship, and support for entrepreneurship growth.
