*** Itanagar | August 17: Friends for Life, in collaboration with the Arunachal Pradesh State Legal Services Authority (APSLSA) under the aegis of the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA), is organising a Legal Awareness Programme on the eve of the organisationโ€™s 20th Foundation Day at Don Bosco Youth Centre, Itanagar.

The programme will feature cultural, skit and documentary presentations, along with sessions on legal and mental health topics related to women, children and students. The event will also include a skit winner prize distribution.

*** Itanagar | August 17: A Legal Awareness Programme organised by Friends for Life in collaboration with the Arunachal Pradesh State Legal Services Authority (APSLSA), under the aegis of the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA), was held at Don Bosco Youth Centre, Itanagar, on the eve of Friends for Lifeโ€™s 20th Foundation Day.

During the programme, Dr. Hirendra Kashyap, District & Sessions Judge, Yupia, delivered a special address on โ€œConstitutional Amendments and Womenโ€™s Property Rights Movements in India, with Special Reference to Arunachal Pradesh.โ€

The session highlighted the evolution of constitutional and legal provisions concerning womenโ€™s rights to property and the importance of legal awareness in empowering women and promoting equality and justice in society.

Darang, Legal Aid Counsel at the Gauhati High Court, addressed participants at the Legal Awareness Programme organised by Friends for Life in collaboration with the Arunachal Pradesh State Legal Services Authority (APSLSA), under the aegis of the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA), at Don Bosco Youth Centre, Itanagar.

Speaking on key legal protections, Adv. Darang highlighted the NALSA (Victims of Trafficking and Commercial Sexual Exploitation) Scheme, 2015, and the NALSA (Child-Friendly Legal Services for Children) Scheme, 2024. The session focused on strengthening legal awareness and access to justice for victims of trafficking, children and other vulnerable groups.

The programme, held ahead of Friends for Lifeโ€™s 20th Foundation Day, also featured cultural performances, a skit and documentary presentations, along with discussions on legal and mental health issues concerning women, children and students. A prize distribution ceremony for the skit competition was also held.

*** Itanagar | July 24: The Arunachal Pradesh State Legal Services Authority (APSLSA), under the aegis of the Mediation and Conciliation Project Committee (MCPC), Supreme Court of India, and the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA), successfully concluded its 40-Hour Mediation Training Programme held from July 20 to 24, 2026, at DK Convention Hall, Itanagar.

The five-day intensive training programme was organised to strengthen the skills and capacity of legal professionals and stakeholders in the field of mediation and alternative dispute resolution (ADR). Participants were provided with practical and theoretical insights into mediation techniques, communication skills, negotiation strategies, and dispute resolution mechanisms.

The initiative reflects APSLSAโ€™s continued commitment to promoting amicable settlement of disputes and enhancing access to justice through effective and efficient mediation practices across Arunachal Pradesh. The programme is expected to contribute significantly to building a robust mediation ecosystem in the state and encouraging peaceful resolution of conflicts outside conventional court proceedings.
