भारतीय वानिकी अनुसंधान एवं शिक्षा परिषद (ICFRE) के उष्णकटिबंधीय वन अनुसंधान संस्थान (TFRI), जबलपुर द्वारा मध्य प्रदेश वन विभाग के सहयोग से खंडवा में “वन रोपणियों के समेकित स्वास्थ्य प्रबंधन हेतु रोपणी कर्मियों का क्षमता निर्माण” विषय पर 19 अगस्त 2026 को एक दिवसीय प्रशिक्षण कार्यक्रम का सफलतापूर्वक आयोजन खंडवा में किया गया।

कार्यक्रम में श्रीमती बासु कनोजिया मुख्य वन संरक्षक (CCF), खंडवा मुख्य अतिथि के रूप में उपस्थित रहे। कार्यक्रम में श्री राकेश कुमार डामोर, वनमंडलाधिकारी (DFO), सामान्य वनमंडल, खंडवा तथा श्री बालासुब्रमणि, वनमंडलाधिकारी सामाजिक वानिकी, खंडवा की गरिमामयी उपस्थिति रही।

प्रशिक्षण के दौरान वन रोपणियों में पौधों के स्वास्थ्य, रोग एवं कीट-व्याधियों की पहचान, पोषक तत्वों से संबंधित समस्याओं तथा उनके समेकित प्रबंधन की आधुनिक एवं वैज्ञानिक तकनीकों पर विषय विशेषज्ञों द्वारा प्रशिक्षण प्रदान किया गया। प्रतिभागियों को स्वस्थ एवं गुणवत्तापूर्ण पौध उत्पादन के लिए समय पर समस्या की पहचान, उचित निदान तथा प्रभावी प्रबंधन उपायों को अपनाने के लिए जागरूक किया गया।

प्रशिक्षण कार्यक्रम में डॉ. सी. मोहन, डॉ. दर्शन के., डॉ. निधेश टी. डी. एवं डॉ. दीपिका जांगम सहित विषय विशेषज्ञों द्वारा विभिन्न तकनीकी विषयों पर व्याख्यान एवं व्यावहारिक जानकारी प्रदान की गई। प्रतिभागियों को वन रोपणियों में रोग, कीट-व्याधि एवं पोषक तत्व विकारों की पहचान तथा उनके प्रभावी प्रबंधन से संबंधित क्षेत्रीय एवं व्यावहारिक प्रशिक्षण भी दिया गया।प्रशिक्षण कार्यक्रम मेसामाजिक वानिकी वृत्त खंडवा, बैतूल एवं सिवनी के अधिकारियों, कर्मचारियों एवं रोपणी कर्मियों ने उत्साहपूर्वक सहभागिता की और वन रोपणियों के समेकित स्वास्थ्य प्रबंधन से संबंधित नवीन वैज्ञानिक तकनीकों का प्रशिक्षण प्राप्त किया।

कार्यक्रम के सफल आयोजन में तकनीकी अधिकारी श्री विकास सिंह एवं श्री नितेश कुमार की सक्रिय उपस्थिति एवं सहयोग भी महत्वपूर्ण रहा। उन्होंने प्रशिक्षण के आयोजन एवं आवश्यक व्यवस्थाओं में सहयोग प्रदान किया।

ICFRE -TFRI Jabalpur has participated in a one day workshop on 'Management and conservation of Sal Borer affected forest areas', inaugurated by H'ble Dr. Phaggan Singh Kulaste ji,Member of parliament, Dindori at Indira Gandhi Rashtrya Janjatiya Vishwvidhyalaya,
Amarkantak (Madhya Pradesh).
One Booklet and Brochure titled' Integrated Management of
Sal Heartwood Borer: a guide for field staff, developed by TFRI,also released by the dignitaries during the workshop.

Dr. Mohan, Scientist has presented on the topic. The Forest Department, Bhopal and Dindori also showed Short documentary on *Sal Borer status and it's control measures*.
The workshop was graced by Smt.Anju, Collector,Dindori,Shri Pradeep Vasudeva, Director,SFRI, Shri Manoj Agrawal, PCCF, Vikas, MP Forest Department,

Participants also visited sal borer affected area adjoining Amarkantak region to provide advisory and assess the losses and it's control measures.

ICFRE - Tropical Forest Research Institute (TFRI), Jabalpur celebrated the 80th Independence Day with a spirit of deep patriotism. The programme began with the rendition of Vande Mataram, followed by flag hoisting by Smt. Neelu Singh, Director I/C. In her address, she paid homage to the freedom fighters, recalled their sacrifices, highlighted India's achievements in defence and scientific research, and emphasised the need to address biodiversity loss and climate change. She encouraged collective efforts towards biodiversity conservation, climate resilience, and afforestation initiatives, including projects with Coal India Limited (CIL) and also highlighted TFRI's contributions in ecology, forest genetics, agroforestry, and forest protection, urging all to contribute towards the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.
Indoor and outdoor sports competitions were organised for institute employees, and the winners were felicitated during the programme. All scientists, officers, and staff members were present on the occasion.

A memorandum of understanding (MOU) is signed between Department of Higher Education, Govt. of Madhya Pradesh on 4th August, 2026 at RCVP Noronha Academy of Administration, Bhopal in presence of Hon’ble Governer of MP, Shri Mangubhai Patel, Hon’ble Chief Minister of MP, Shri Mohan Yadav, Madhya Pradesh School Education Minister, Shri Inder Singh Parmar and other dignitaries. Dr. Hari Om Saxena, Scientist -E & Head Facilities & Services represented ICFRE-TFRI on behalf of Director ICFRE - Tropical Forest Research Institute Jabalpur. The collaboration aims to strengthen academic, research and institutional cooperation between HED institutions and TFRI in forestry, biodiversity, ecology, climate change and allied areas. It will provide students, faculty and research scholars opportunities for scientific exposure, training, internships, project guidance and field-based learning. The partnership will also promote joint research, curriculum enrichment, publications, outreach and knowledge dissemination, while supporting faculty and student development without creating automatic financial liability on either Party.

16वें भारतीय अंगदान दिवस के सुअवसर पर आज भा.वा.अ.शि.प. (ICFRE )-उष्णकटिबंधीय वन अनुसंधान संस्थान (Tropical Forest Research Institute ), जबलपुर में *जुग जुग जियो अभियान* का आधिकारिक शुभारंभ किया गया। इस जन-जागरूकता अभियान का मुख्य उद्देश्य समाज को अंगदान के प्रति जागरूक करना एवं जीवनदान के इस महान कार्य के लिए प्रेरित करना है।
इस कार्यक्रम के दौरान संस्थान की निदेशिका डॉ. नीलू सिंह एवं प्रभागाध्यक्ष डॉ. ननिता बेरी के नेतृत्व में संस्थान के अधिकारियों एवं कर्मचारियों को अंगदान की शपथ दिलाई गई। इस अवसर पर संस्थान के सभी प्रभागाध्यक्ष, वैज्ञानिक, अधिकारी एवं कर्मचारी द्वारा मानव सेवा के इस पुनीत कार्य में भागीदारी निभाते हुए यथा संभव अपने अंगों को दान करने का संकल्प लिया।

ICFRE - ARID FOREST RESEARCH INSTITUTE, JODHPUR and ICFRE - Tropical Forest Research Institute (TFRI), Jabalpur organised the 4th Joint Regional Research Conference (RRC) in hybrid mode under the National Forestry Research Plan on the theme "Ecosystem Resilience through Restoration Forestry and Nature-based Solutions for Viksit Bharat@2047." The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from representatives of the jurisdictional State of Rajasthan, Gujarat, Dadra & Nagar Haveli, Daman & Diu, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Maharashtra, scientists from various ICFRE & Nirantar institutes, representatives of industry, NGOs, farmers and other stakeholders, to deliberate on forestry research priorities for building resilient forest ecosystems.
Presiding over the conference, Smt. Kanchan Devi, IFS, Director General, ICFRE and Chairperson of the Regional Research Conference, emphasised that forestry research must address the real world challenges faced by forest managers and stakeholders. Appreciating the participation of State Forest Departments and industries, she observed that although ICFRE-AFRI and ICFRE-TFRI represent two distinct ecosystems of arid and tropical deciduous forests, they share the common goal of developing scientific solutions to emerging forestry challenges. She highlighted the growing importance of research on forest fires, invasive alien species, restoration forestry and application of modern technologies such as remote sensing. Stressing the need for research with measurable field level impact, she called for continuous feedback from forest managers to ensure that scientific outcomes translate into improved forest management practices.
Delivering the keynote address, Dr. H.S. Ginwal, Deputy Director General (Research), ICFRE, stated that this Joint RRC serves as a vital platform for aligning the research priorities of State Forest Departments, industries and other stakeholders. He noted that healthy and resilient ecosystems form the foundation of a developed India and that restoration forestry offers effective solutions to multiple environmental and societal challenges. He emphasised that successful restoration requires active collaboration among scientific institutions, State Forest Departments, industries and local communities and expressed confidence that the conference would foster meaningful scientific discussions leading to practical outcomes.
Dr. Ashutosh Kumar Tripathi, Director, ICFRE-AFRI, Jodhpur, and Dr. Neelu Singh, Director, ICFRE-TFRI, Jabalpur, welcomed the participants and highlighted the contributions of their institutes towards ecological research, restoration forestry, conservation of medicinal plants and community-based approaches for strengthening ecosystem resilience.
The conference also witnessed the release of extension pamphlets on Neem and Sal Borer prepared by ICFRE-AFRI and ICFRE-TFRI for the benefit of forest managers.
Addressing the gathering on behalf of Guest of Honour, Shri Jaipal Singh, PCCF & HoFF, Gujarat, Shri S. K. Shrivastava outlined the strategic research priorities of the Gujarat Forest Department. He emphasised the need for collaborative research, scientific evaluation of CPTs, district level soil analysis and the establishment of a disease diagnosis helpline to support frontline forestry personnel.
Shri Pradeep Vasudeva, PCCF & Director, State Forest Research Institute (SFRI), Jabalpur, highlighted the importance of restoration forestry through natural regeneration and scientific silvicultural planning. He shared SFRI's initiatives on landscape-level restoration to achieve the UNCCD 2030 targets, including restoration of Birsinghpur mine dump, Madan Mahal Hills and the proposed restoration of nearly 50 hectares of ravines in Morena.
Representing PCCF & HoFF, Chhattisgarh, Shri Venkatachalam, presented the state's initiatives in restoration forestry and agroforestry. He highlighted collaborative work with ICFRE on tissue culture-based bamboo and teak propagation and requested ICFRE-TFRI to support the identification of superior teak germplasm in Chhattisgarh.
The conference concluded with a formal vote of thanks proposed by Dr. Tarun Kant, Group Coordinator (Research), ICFRE-AFRI.
