Sunday Field Visit – Part 2 | Balikuda Block

Date: 06.09.2026

A productive Field Visit was undertaken in Balikuda Block by the team, led by the DPM, OLM along with the BPM, BPCs of Balikuda & Naugaon, BLC, LSPs, Harsha Trust officials and CSS, to review livelihood activities, SHG enterprises and GPLF infrastructure.

🔹 Alavar G.P. – Vegetable Patch & GPLF Building

The team first visited a 3-acre vegetable patch at Alavar G.P., where SHG members are engaged in vegetable cultivation and poultry activities in convergence with the Veterinary Department. The team reviewed the progress of the activities and discussed measures for strengthening SHG-based livelihoods.

The team also visited the new GPLF building site at Alavar G.P.and reviewed the status of construction.

🔹 Badagaon G.P. – THR Unit & GPLF Building

The team then visited the THR Unit at Badagaon G.P. and interacted with SHG members regarding quality of production, hygiene, production practices and proper record keeping. The importance of systematic record keeping for effective management and sustainability of the unit was emphasized.

The new location of the GPLF building was also verified along with the field team.

🔹 Adhangaon G.P. – Livelihood Activities

At Adhangaon G.P., the team held discussions with the CSS regarding ongoing livelihood activities and the progress of SHG enterprises.

The team also visited various livelihood units and activities, including:

Fishery
Poultry
🔹 Ambasala G.P. – Livelihood activities along with Idol Making

The team interacted with SHG members and reviewed the progress, challenges and scope for further strengthening these livelihood activities.

🔹Balikuda G.P. – GPLF Building Location

The field visit concluded with verification of the proposed GPLF building location at Balikuda G.P. along with the concerned team members.

From field observations to meaningful action! The team remains committed to strengthening SHG institutions, promoting sustainable livelihoods, improving enterprise performance and creating greater economic opportunities for rural women.

🐟10-Day Training Programme on Pisciculture (Inland Fisheries) 🐟

UCO-RSETI, Jagatsinghpur is conducting a 10-day training programme on Pisciculture (Inland Fisheries) for Women Self Help Group (WSHG) Fish Farmers of Raghunathpur Block.

The programme aims to enhance the participants’ knowledge and practical skills in scientific fish farming, pond management, fish feeding, disease management, modern pisciculture practices and sustainable income generation.

Such skill-development initiatives will empower WSHG members to adopt viable livelihood activities, increase household income and promote entrepreneurship in the fisheries sector.

MANGULI FARMERS — THIS FACILITY IS FOR YOU!

A new step towards stronger livelihoods and better farming was marked at Manguli G.P.L.F., Biridi Block with the inauguration of the CFC/CHC by the Zilla Parishad Member, Chairman & Vice-Chairman, Biridi Block, BDO, DPM,OLM, BPM, OLM, BPC, MS & staff and Sarpanch, Manguli G.P.

The CFC/CHC will give Manguli farmers affordable access to essential farm equipment, helping reduce cultivation costs, improve efficiency and enhance productivity.

SHG members and farmers interacted with the dignitaries and discussed the effective utilisation of the equipment and facilities for maximum community benefit.

Let Manguli lead the way in community-based farming and rural prosperity.
