Age Ventures India a Not-for-Profit Trust has been initiated by HelpAge India with the specific aim at promoting Assisted and Independent Living for the middle income group elderly of India. The Trust addresses all those issues and concerns which HelpAge India is unable to address due to its charter and mandate. AVI has a knowledge sharing association with a UK based charity organization namely MH
A (METHODIST HOUSING ASSOCIATION of UK), who are supporting the Trust in promoting the concept of International level Senior Living facilities. With children moving out or getting busy in their own lives senior citizens are increasingly facing issues that disturb their long hard earned retirement. Some of the key question that an elderly couple living alone faces are:
• Concern for Security
• Concern for the other partner "should some thing happens to me"
• Concern for immediate health care reaching in time if something happens
• Concern regarding how to fight loneliness
• Concern regarding household work, with fast reducing manpower availability and failing energy levels
There will be many more questions that come to mind these are few of them. In bid to answer all these questions AVI has initiated a series of projects for betterment of life, once ageing starts to effect life in general and reduces the ability to distinguish between a service provider for whom service is a passion and mission and those who are not so. AVI has made it, its mission to do this with the backing of the knowledge shared by HelpAge India and MHA. AVI advises the Developers in designing and promoting these proposed homes. Post completion AVI will manage these facilities as part of its long term objectives. Our Project:
The project we will like to share with you is at Jaipur which is being developed by ARG Group. The complex will have 196 apartments for senior citizen along with a care home and communal area. The communal area consists of a full fledged dining room sitting around 70-80 people at a time. TV Lounge, Auditorium and swimming pool as part of the main club, 4 Hobbies room, Yoga Room, All Indoor games including TT and Billiards, Yoga Room, 4 Guest Rooms, 8 High dependence rooms, physiotherapy centre, treatment rooms, doctors room nurse rooms etc. The total township is around 35 acres which also has villas for the general residents. For healthcare we have tied up with FORTIS Escorts Hospital and for the continuous mental stimulation, tie up has been entered into with Jaipur National University. The residents would be able to go to the University, teach students, help them in case study analyses, emotionally counsel them, mentor them, use the library etc. The entire concept had been developed by the developer in consultation with AVI. AVI will be there right through construction and post occupation we will manage the facility for the elders. In a way except for construction we
