On 26th April 2026, M.A.M. College successfully conducted the Common Entrance Test (BOPEE) for Nursing, Paramedical, and B.Sc. Technology courses, with a scheduled strength of approximately 1100 students. The examination was carried out smoothly and efficiently under the supervision of designated examination authorities, ensuring discipline and proper coordination throughout the process.

As part of the ongoing Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (NMBA) campaign, a brief yet impactful awareness initiative was seamlessly incorporated into the examination schedule without affecting its sanctity. Before the commencement of the examination, candidates were sensitized about the objectives and significance of the NMBA campaign. The awareness message emphasized the harmful effects of substance abuse and encouraged students to lead a healthy, drug-free life.

Following the successful completion of the examination, all Superintendents and examination staff collectively administered the NMBA pledge. This activity was conducted with due diligence to ensure that the examination process remained uninterrupted and orderly. The pledge reinforced a shared commitment towards promoting a drug-free society and spreading awareness among the youth.

The programme underscores the institution’s strong commitment to both academic excellence and social responsibility. The seamless ex*****on of awareness activities alongside examination duties showcases the administration’s foresight and effective organizational planning.

REPORT ON NMBA AWARENESS AND PLEDGE ACTIVITY DURING JUET EXAMINATION

Coordinated/Organized by: NCORD/NMBA Committee

On 25th April 2026, under the aboe guidance of Principal, Prof. Archana Kaul, M.A.M. College successfully conducted the JUET examination with a total strength of approximately 940 students. The examination was organized in a smooth, disciplined, and well-coordinated manner under the supervision of the appointed examination authorities.

As part of the ongoing Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (NMBA) campaign, a brief awareness initiative was thoughtfully integrated into the examination process without disturbing its sanctity. Prior to the commencement of the examination, all students were sensitized about the objectives and importance of the NMBA campaign. The briefing emphasized the need to stay away from substance abuse and encouraged students to adopt a healthy and responsible lifestyle.

After the successful conclusion of the examination, all Superintendents and examination staff participated in administering the NMBA pledge. This activity was conducted with utmost care to ensure that no aspect of the examination process was disrupted. The pledge reaffirmed the collective commitment towards building a drug-free society and spreading awareness among the youth.

Under the dynamic leadership and guidance of the worthy Principal, Prof. Archana Kaul, Maulana Azad Memorial College, Jammu, on 17th of April 2026, 13 students from the College participated in a Symposium on Drug De-addiction organised by the Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) at Red Cross Bhawan, Kachi Chawni, Jammu. The contingent attended the programme under the supervision of Dr. Rajinder Kumar. The symposium focused on creating awareness regarding the harmful effects of drug abuse and the collective responsibility of society in promoting a drug-free environment.

Students actively participated in the interactive session and deliberations, and shared their views on prevention, awareness, rehabilitation, and youth responsibility in combating substance abuse.

Bringing laurels to the institution, Manit Verma, a fourth-semester student of the college, secured Second Position in the symposium competition. His commendable performance was widely appreciated and reflects the academic excellence and social awareness of the students.
Principal, Prof. Kaul, congratulated the student achiever, faculty coordinator, and all participants for their enthusiastic involvement. She also encouraged students to continue participating in such meaningful programmes under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (NMBA). Government Maulana Azad Memorial College, Jammu, under the aegis of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan Jammu (NMBA) and under the able guidance of Principal Prof. Archana Kaul, successfully organized an awareness program and pledge ceremony in the Boys’ Hostel of the college.
The program was jointly organized by NCORD, the Department of Psychology (faculty and students), and the Student Welfare Committee of the college.
The event commenced with a welcome address by Dr. Shiv Mangal Singh, Assistant Professor, Department of Psychology, who highlighted the importance of awareness and collective responsibility in addressing the issue of drug abuse.


Dr. Rajinder Kumar, Coordinator NCORD, interacted with the hostellers and sensitized them to various dimensions of the growing menace of drug abuse. He emphasized the need for a multi-pronged approach to curb this rapidly spreading problem, particularly among the youth. He stressed the importance of equipping students with adequate knowledge and awareness so that this social evil can be effectively prevented.
Dr. Muneer Hussain, Member of the Hostel Committee, also interacted with the hostellers and encouraged them to adopt a healthy and disciplined lifestyle. He underscored the importance of peer support and vigilance within hostel environments to prevent substance abuse and promote a positive campus culture.
Prof. Sanjay Sambyal addressed the students and highlighted the importance of adopting healthy lifestyle practices, including regular physical activity, balanced nutrition, and stress management, as essential measures for staying away from drug abuse and maintaining overall well-being.
Students were also encouraged to take the online pledge through the NMBA portal and upload their certificates in various college groups, particularly in mentor–mentee groups, to motivate and inspire other students to stay away from drug abuse. More than 200 students along with faculty members have already participated in the pledge-taking process, which is still ongoing.
The program concluded with an Anti-Drug Pledge Ceremony, where students reaffirmed their commitment to remain drug-free and to contribute actively towards building a drug-free society.

MAM hosts Annual Rank Ceremony for NCC 2026-27

JAMMU, 22 March. NCC Army wing of Maulana Azad Memorial (MAM) College organised the Annual Rank Ceremony cm Farewell for the session 2026-27 celebrating the commendable achievements of its cadets under the guidance of the Principal of the College, Prof Archana Kaul and supervision of Prof. Gagandeep Jangral , NCC Officer of the College.
The chief guest on this occasion was Prof( Dr.) K. S. Chandrasekar , Honourable Vice Chancellor of Cluster University of Jammu, while Brigadier D.N. Pandey, Grp Commander,Jammu Grp , JK & L Directorate was the Guest of Honour. He was accompanied by Colonel Naveen Sharma, Commanding Officer ,2nd J&K Battalion NCC. The Officers were presented ceremonial Guard of Honour by the cadets. Principal of the college Prof. Archana Kaul presented the welcome address and expressed pride in the accomplishments of the cadets during the year.
Prof. K. S. Chandrasekhar showed keen interest in the programme and congratulated cadets and mentors for their achievements and selections in Armed Forces , Central Police Forces and other fields . In his address he wished that new rank holders shall follow the footsteps of the outgoing cadets . The Rank of Senior Under Officer (SUO) was bestowed upon Dilneet Singh while the ranks of Junior Under Officers (JUOs) were given to Navneet Abrol and Akshay Singh.
Brigadier D.N. Pandey acknowledged the dedication of the NCC in multifarous activities . Highlighting the ideals and scope of the organisation , he encouraged cadets to champion the values of service to the nation.
The programme featured skits, poetry and dances showcasing the immense talent of these cadets. Their enthusiasm was applauded by the audience .
In concluding remarks, Prof. Gagandeep Jangral NCC Officer thanked the Vice Chancellor Prof. K. S. Chandrasekar , Principal Archana Kaul , Group Commander B. N. Pandey and Commanding Officer Col. Naveen Sharma for their cooperation and participation. He also thanked faculty members who were present on the occasion . The support of technical team and cadets was also acknowledged .
The highlight of the programme today was the Annual Report of the Army wing of NCC of the college. The major achievements besides activities in the college were presented. These are :-
OVERALL RANKINGS
2nd Position overall in Local Republic Day Parade 2025 in MA Stadium Jammu.
1st Position overall in Independence Day Parade 2025 in MA Stadium Jammu.

SELECTIONS
1.Ex – Cadet Kartik Singh qualified prestigious AFCAT 2025 and got recommended. Currently undergoing training. Cadet Ankit Thakur also got recommended by qualifying AFCAT.
2.Ex-Cadets Ashish Koul , Aman Manhas and Nikhil Saini got commissioned in Indian Army in 2025 through NCC Special Entry.Cadet Ashish Koul has completed his training and has been placed as Lieutenant.
3.Cadet A***n Sharma also got commissioned this year through Combined Defence Services Exams. Currently undergoing training.
4.Kashish Sharma , ex cadet , was selected as Assistant Commandant Indian Coast Guards in 2025.
5.JUO Sumit Sharma and Cadets Dheeraj, A***n Dogra, Ajay Kumar, Anshul Sharma , Krish Singh Chauhan got selected as Agniveers in the year 2025.
6.JUO Sameer Malhotra has been selected as Agniveervayu
7.Cadets Gurpreet Singh and Aman Bhagat have been selected in the Territorial Army. Cadet Sumneet Sharma has got selected in CISF.
8.Cadet Samridh Kumar has been awarded the ADG’s Medallion for getting First position in Quiz and Field Craft Battle Craft at DG NCC New Delhi in Sep 2025.

Day 2 of Five-Day Management Development Programme (MDP)
Entrepreneurship Development Program (EDP)

The second day of the Five-Day Management Development Programme (MDP) on Entrepreneurship Development, organised by the Nodal College for IIC Hub of Cluster University of Jammu (Govt. MAM College) in collaboration with the Indian Institute of Management Jammu, witnessed insightful deliberations and interactive learning sessions aimed at nurturing young entrepreneurs. The event was graced by the honourable Vice Chancellor, Cluster University of Jammu, Prof. K.S. Chandrasekar, who encouraged the Coordinators and students of the constituent colleges of the Cluster University of Jammu. The programme is being conducted under the Ministry of MSME, Government of India, and is supported by the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises from February 23–27, 2026.

Day 2 commenced with an engaging session on Customer Research and Crafting Travel Boost by Mr Vaibhav Sharma, who emphasised the importance of understanding customer needs, market validation, and building value-driven solutions. The session provided participants with practical insights into identifying target audiences and designing customer-centric business models.

This was followed by a session on Building Financial Models, conducted by Mr Kanav Padha, Manager DST ITBI, IIM Jammu. He elaborated on advertising, branding, financial planning, cost structures, revenue streams and investment strategies essential for startup sustainability and growth. Participants were introduced to key financial tools required for business planning and investor readiness. He also deliberated about social media and its role in marketing.

In the post-lunch session, Mr Rishi Gupta, investment consultant, delivered a lecture on financial management and leveraging technology for Business Growth, highlighting how digital tools, innovation, and emerging technologies can enhance operational efficiency and scalability of startups. He also emphasised the volatile nature of the security market.

The day concluded with a comprehensive session on pivoting and growth management for start-ups by Mr Mukesh Kumar, Trikutahills Finserv LLP who guided participants about business strategies through various funding avenues, business models and strategies for pitching business ideas effectively.

The sessions were highly interactive, with participants actively engaging in discussions, case studies, and practical exercises. Day 2 significantly strengthened the entrepreneurial acumen of the attendees by equipping them with essential knowledge in customer research, financial modelling, technological integration, and funding strategies.

The programme continues to foster innovation, leadership, and entrepreneurial spirit among aspiring entrepreneurs of Cluster University of Jammu.
