5-Day Exhibition by Rajinder Pal Singh Inaugurated at Kala Kendra
JAMMU, March 28: A five-day painting exhibition by noted artist Rajinder Pal Singh was inaugurated this morning at Kala Kendra, Jammu, in the presence of prominent artists, writers, and art lovers of the region.
Padma Shri awardee Rajinder Tickoo was the Chief Guest on the occasion. The inaugural function was also attended by senior artist Vijay Saraf ‘Meenaghe’, eminent art historian and critic Dr. Lalit Gupta, and Dr. Javaid Rahi, Secretary, Kala Kendra, who were present on the dais.
In his welcome address, Dr. Javaid Rahi highlighted that the primary objective of the exhibition is to provide a platform for local artists to showcase their work, particularly creations developed over long artistic journeys. He noted that the exhibition of 40 paintings reflects nearly 17 years of dedicated artistic practice by the artist.
Speaking on the occasion, Rajinder Tickoo described Rajinder Pal Singh as a prominent name in the field of modern art in Jammu. He remarked that Singh’s work has consistently impressed him, adding that he has personally collected some of the artist’s drawings/ paintings.
Vijay Saraf ‘Meenaghe’, in his address, stated that Rajinder Pal Singh’s works reflect the continuity of artistic traditions in the region. He observed that the paintings vividly express the artist’s inner world through colors and urged the public to support artists by purchasing artworks and related creations.
Dr. Lalit Gupta congratulated the artist for his distinctive style, which sets him apart from others. He also appreciated the efforts of Kala Kendra in promoting artists by providing them with a platform to exhibit their work.
Speaking about his exhibition, artist Rajinder Pal Singh said that his solo exhibition titled “Sublime Nature (2009–2026)” is the outcome of his continuous engagement with modern art over the years.
The exhibition will remain open to the public till April 1, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM at G.R. Santosh Gallery, Kala Kendra, Bikram Chowk, Jammu.

Dr. Karan Singh Inaugurates 10 day-Exhibition at Kala Kendra, Jammu

Jammu, 15 March 2026:

Former Union Minister Dr. Karan Singh inaugurated an Exhibition of Art and Photographs highlighting the memories of Operation Sindoor and Floods 2025 at Kala Kendra today. The Principal Secretary, Department of Culture, Government of Jammu and Kashmir Brij Mohan Sharma was the Special Guest on the occasion.

The exhibition has been jointly organized by the Amar Mahal Museum and Library and the Kala Kendra Jammu across all five galleries on the ground floor of Kala Kendra

While inaugurating the exhibition, Dr. Karan Singh said that Jammu and Kashmir has immensely contributed to the art scene of the country. He lauded the role of artists and painters from the region in promoting the local ethos and cultural heritage at national and international levels. Expressing deep sorrow over the tragic incidents during Operation Sindoor, which resulted in the loss of lives, he said the devastating floods of 2025 were also a painful chapter in the region’s history. He appreciated the organizers for documenting and presenting the people’s pain and resilience through photographs.

Speaking on the occasion, Brij Mohan Sharma,stated that Dr. Karan Singh—who celebrated his 95th birthday recently—is a living legend and a symbol of wisdom, dignity, and humanity. He said Dr. Karan Singh’s lifelong commitment to culture, philosophy, and public service continues to inspire generations. He also highlighted the initiatives taken by the Department of Culture for the preservation and promotion of Jammu and Kashmir’s rich cultural heritage.

Earlier , in his welcome address, Dr. Javaid Rahi, Secretary of Kala Kendra Jammu, stated that . The ten-day exhibition showcases a rich collection of artworks, including miniature paintings, along with a photo exhibition documenting memories .

Dr Jyotsana Singh mentioned that the exhibition coincides with the 4th edition of the Tawi Festival, currently being celebrated in Jammu. She stated that the exhibition presents a rare collection of artworks from the AMML and also features photographs portraying the suffering and resilience of people during Operation Sindoor and the floods of 2025.

Renowned art historian Dr. Lalit Gupta, who shared the presidium, stated that the exhibition features rare and exceptional works by distinguished painters and urged Jummuties to visit and appreciate the diverse artistic expressions on display.

The exhibition will remain open to the public until 23 March at Kala Kendra, Jammu.
