Deputy Commissioner Dr Rakesh Minhas chaired Block Diwas at Mallah Panchayat Ghar of Block Kharah Balli in Khour Sub Division, reaching out to people of this remote area and personally hearing their grievances on the spot.

During the proceedings, the DC patiently listened to the grievances of the people, some of which were addressed on the spot by the DC, with instructions issued to the concerned officials for their timely and effective redressal.

The DC also appealed to the people to actively participate in and play their part in making society free from the menace of drugs. He urged the youth in particular to stay away from substance abuse and called upon the locals to remain vigilant and report drug-related activity to the district administration.

A district administration team, led by Tehsildar Bahu Raju Sambyal and Tehsildar HQ Mona Chalotra on orders from District Magistrate Dr Rakesh Minhas inspected Aman Arms Company at Railhead Shopping Complex today.

The shop had no valid licence, its application was rejected in 2024, and was operating in violation of the Arms Act, 1959 and Arms Rules, 2016. The team seized multiple gun licences and personal documents of licence holders.

Legal action has been initiated. The administration will continue strict monitoring of arms dealers.

No agent or unlicensed shop can legally handle arms licence work. All renewals, applications and related services must be done only through the official National Database of Arms Licences (NDAL-ALIS) portal at ndal-alis.gov.in. Report any demands for money or documents to the District Magistrate, Jammu office immediately.
