Parents Allege Fee Hike Violations at G.Q Public School, Qaimoh Kulgam, Seek Intervention
Kulgam, Feb 12: Parents of students at G.Q Public School, Qaimoh Kulgam, have accused the school of violating fee regulations by imposing an alleged hike in tuition fees and annual charges. Despite repeated complaints, they claim no swift action has been taken.
Some students have reportedly been denied roll number slips, adding to their anxiety ahead of exams. Parents argue that such actions are unfair and could impact students' academic performance and mental well-being.
Yesterday, a delegation representing the Parents' Association met with the Hon’ble Minister of Secondary School Education, Ms. Sakeena Masood Itoo, at the Civil Secretariat, Jammu. The minister issued on-spot directions to the Director of School Education, Srinagar, to conduct an inquiry and submit a detailed factual report within two days.
Following the minister's directive, a three-member team led by the District Vigilance Officer visited the school today to investigate the matter. The team also held discussions with parents to address their concerns.
Parents have called for urgent intervention, urging authorities to enforce regulations and address their grievances. Meanwhile, officials have assured that an investigation is underway and necessary action will be taken if violations are confirmed.
