𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗗𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝗰𝗿𝗼𝘀𝘀 𝗔𝗹𝗹 𝗔𝗿𝗺𝗲𝗱 𝗣𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗼𝗻 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗘𝗻𝘃𝗶𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗗𝗮𝘆
𝗦𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗮𝗿, 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗲 05: On the occasion of World Environment Day, a large-scale tree plantation drive was conducted at the Armed Police Complex (APC), Zewan, as part of the nationwide Tree Plantation Campaign aimed at promoting environmental conservation and enhancing green cover.
2. Shri Anand Jain, IPS, ADG Armed J&K, planted a sapling at APC Zewan, marking the commencement of programme. The event was jointly organized by JKAP 9th Battalion, JKAP 13th Battalion, and Women 2nd Battalion, and witnessed enthusiastic participation from officers and personnel of various units stationed at the complex.
3. As part of the initiative, hundreds of indigenous saplings were planted within the premises of APC Zewan and adjoining areas under the Civic Action Programme of J&K Police. The plantation drive underscored the commitment of J&K Police towards environmental sustainability and ecological preservation.
4. Similar plantation drives were simultaneously conducted across the Union Territory of J&K, with Commandants of Armed Police, IRP, Border, and Women Battalions supervising the activities at their respective Battalion Headquarters. Officers and personnel participated with great enthusiasm and pledged to ensure the proper care, protection, and maintenance of the planted saplings to maximize their survival and long-term environmental benefits.
5. Among those present on the occasion were include, Shri Sheikh Junaid Mehmood, IPS, In-charge IGP; Shri Shahzad Salaria, SSP, Commandant JKAP 9th Battalion; Shri Raja Zohaib, SSP, Commandant Women 2nd Battalion; Shri Tariq Ahmad, SSP, APCR Kashmir; and other senior officers.
