इंडियन फ्लाइंग फॉक्स (पटरोपस मेडियस), जिसे ग्रेटर इंडियन फ्रूट बैट के रूप में भी जाना जाता है, भारतीय उपमहाद्वीप के मूल निवासी फ्लाइंग फॉक्स की एक प्रजाति है। यह दुनिया के सबसे बड़े चमगादड़ों में से एक है। यह निशाचर है और मुख्य रूप से पके फलों, जैसे आम और केले, और अमृत पर फ़ीड करता है। हाल ही में इसे जमुई के चकायी इलाके में देखा गया है।

जमुई वन प्रमंडल द्वारा दिनांक 3 मार्च 2022 को विश्व वन्यजीव दिवस मनाया गया। निबंध प्रतियोगिता तथा चित्रकला प्रतियोगिता में विभिन्न स्कूलों के छात्रों ने भाग लिया। उन्हें वन्यजीव पर आधारित डॉक्यूमेंट्री फिल्म भी दिखाई गई।

The Common Silverline (spindasis vulcanus) is a small-sized, colorful butterfly with orange and white bands lined with black on the underside of the wings and prominent black and orange markings on the upper-side.
The first, and the most important defense mechanism that most butterflies have, is speed. The Silverline is adept in swiftness and speed. The butterfly also employs a ‘false head’ as a decoy near the base of the hindwing in order to cloud the predator’s judgment on their attack strategies. The hindwing features a prominent ‘eye’ with one or more pairs of threadlike ‘tails’ making them appear like antennae. This fools the predator into attacking the less vital parts of its body like the base of its hindwing, thinking this is the head.

2 New Bird Species named 'White-capped water redstart' and 'Eurasian thick-knee' are added to the Bird list of Jamui.

The White-capped Water-redstart is the only member of the genus Chaimarrornis, which represents the Himalayan stream avifauna. it is quite surprising to report it at Garhi Dam for the first time in Jamui and the second time in Bihar after Valmiki Tiger Reserve. This species is a short-distance migrant.

Eurasian thick-knee is generally found in dry grassland. It is active mainly at night and spends the day sitting inconspicuously; thus, it is overlooked easily.

With the advent of technology and enthusiastic birders, we are looking forward to the reporting of many more new bird species.
