12 years ago, I made a choice that changed not just one life, but two — I donated my kidney to my mother.
Back then, organ donation was wrapped in hesitation, myths, and quiet sacrifices. Conversations were scarce, questions were many, and acceptance... was a battle.
But I chose love. I chose courage. I chose life — for her and for myself.

Today, reading about this journey in the newspaper, I feel a quiet pride. Not just for what I did, but for how far we all have come.
Now, I see stories of sons, daughters, spouses, relatives and even strangers stepping forward to donate — not out of pressure, but out of awareness, compassion, and choice.
What once felt like a lonely path now feels like a growing movement. And that makes my heart full.
