On behalf of the Paschim Banga Rajya Muslim League, heartfelt congratulations are extended to the Hon’ble Chief Minister of West Bengal, Ms. Mamata Banerjee, for her strong legal stand in the Supreme Court in defense of democratic values and the voting rights of the people.

This development is not merely a political or legal matter, but an important example of safeguarding democracy, justice, and the fundamental rights of ordinary citizens. Transparency in the voter list and protection of citizens’ voting rights form the very foundation of a healthy democratic system, and the efforts made in this matter have conveyed a powerful message across the nation.

साबरमती नदी के पूर्वी तट पर 15वीं शताब्दी में सुल्तान अहमद शाह द्वारा स्थापित अहमदाबाद का चारदीवारी वाला शहर, सल्तनत काल की एक समृद्ध वास्तुकला विरासत प्रस्तुत करता है, विशेष रूप से भद्र गढ़ किले,शहर की दीवारें, दरवाज़े और कई मस्जिदों और मकबरों के साथ-साथ बाद के समय के महत्वपूर्ण हिंदू और जैन मंदिर भी। शहरी इलाके (पुरा) में घने-भरे पारंपरिक घरों (पोल) से बनी है, जिसमें पक्षी भक्षण, सार्वजनिक कुएं और धार्मिक संस्थान जैसी विशिष्ट विशेषताएं हैं। यह शहर वर्तमान तक छह शताब्दियों तक गुजरात राज्य की राजधानी के रूप में फलता-फूलता रहा।

The walled city of Ahmadabad, founded by Sultan Ahmad Shah in the 15th century, on the eastern bank of the Sabarmati river, presents a rich architectural heritage from the sultanate period, notably the Bhadra citadel, the walls and gates of the Fort city and numerous mosques and tombs as well as important Hindu and Jain temples of later periods. The urban fabric is made up of densely-packed traditional houses (pols) in gated traditional streets (puras) with characteristic features such as bird feeders, public wells and religious institutions. The city continued to flourish as the capital of the State of Gujarat for six centuries, up to the present.

आज़ादी की लड़ाई का एक बदनसीब नायक। 18 साल की उम्र में ग़ुलाम भारत में अपनी आवाज़ सुनाने के लिए भगत सिंह के साथ मिलकर सेंट्रल लेजिस्लेटिव एसेम्बली में बम फेंक कर इंक़लाब ज़िंदाबाद नारे लगाने वाले बटुकेश्वर दत्त को आज़ाद भारत मे जीवन गुज़र बसर करने के लिए पटना में डबल रोटी बनाने और गुटखा तंबाकू बेचने का काम करना पड़ा। जब उन्होंने बस चलाने का सोचा और बस के परमिट के लिए आवेदन दिया तो पटना के कलेक्टर ने उनसे उनके बटुकेश्वर दत्त होने को साबित करने को कह दिया।

जीवन के अंतिम दिनों में जब पटना के अस्पताल में भर्ती हुए तो बेड नहीं मिला। बाद में पंजाब सरकार के हस्तक्षेप के बाद दिल्ली लाकर पहले सफदरजंग फिर ऐम्स में इलाज भर्ती करवाया गया जहां कैंसर होने का पता चला। यहां भगत सिंह की मां विद्यावती उनके साथ रहीं। यहीं 20 जुलाई 1965 को उन्होंने अंतिम सांस लिया। और फिर उनकी इच्छा के अनुरूप उनका अंतिम संस्कार पंजाब के हुसैनीवाला में भगत सिंह सुखदेव और राजगुरु के स्मारक के पास ही कर दिया गया।
