Our Story

This village is one of the highest trekking places in chamoli Uttarakhand.The name of this village is Dorangri in Joshimath.The approx 10 Km Trek from Jumma is very rich in Bio Diversity one witnesses a vast mixture of flora and fauna. There is a thick forest of Deodaaar, Texas Baccata ( Thuner) , Bhojpatra, Wild Appricot etc. As one climbs higher the forest converts into beds of Herbs. Amongst them is the elusive “SANJEEVNI” known for saving the life of Laxmana as stated in Ramayana.

Dronagiri mountain: In Treta Yuga during the time of Ramayana (Rama-Ravana War) Laxmana got unconscious. To save the life of Laxmana, with the advice of Sushenvaidyă, Lord Hanumana was sent to Dronagiri. Hanumana brought the whole Dronagiri mountain instead of Sanjeevani Medicine. Today also by seeing the Dronagiri mountain one can verify this. At the time of lifting of Sanjeevani mountain the left hand of mountain deity got broken, due to which the people in Dronagiri do not worship Lord Hanumana. Today also the red colour can be seen in the statue of mountain deity, which is shown as the trail of blood in the left hand of mountain deity. The statue is prohibited to touch. It is also said many times that touching it brings unwelcoming bad luck.

And you looked Bagni Glacier is approximately 12 km away from Dronagiri Village, which is a very famous trekking route of the state of Uttarakhand. There is not much climbing in the trekking route after Dronagiri village. Arriving there take two and a half to three hours. From the British period, people from the country and foreigner tourists come here for trekking every year.
